Google ignores 9/11 in their logo
Google.com | 9/11/2009 | smith288

Google remembers Ghandi, astrology, the first day of spring, Dr. Seuss birthday but nothing about honoring the lives lost and the sacrifice given.

Bunch of shmucks.

...one of their founders is a Russian born Jew...you’d think he would be patriotic to the country that made him rich.

Well, you should be... keep in mind though that there are thousands of libs around our great country that swear that 9/11 was created by the Bush administration. Remember Van Jones?

Bing.com has a lovely tribute photo up.

I don’t use Google anymore specifically because of this kind of crap.

Time for folks to stop using Google and anything related to Google.

Time to put your money where your mouth is, folks.

It may be out of respect. I, for one, would react—probably—negatively to Google attempting to mark this day as they do other days. Let it go and give them a break.

Kind of agree with you.....Twin Towers in the Google symbol would be tasteless.

A yellow ribbon OTOH......

Im pissed.

I haven’t used google for a good 6 years now.

Google’s partisanship and anti-Americanism is no surprise to me and many others on FR.

I won’t even give them a hit to see if they honor a holiday or day of remembrance.

Dogpile has a fitting “letterhead” today. I haven't used Google for some time.

Maybe a yellow ribbon in the corner of the screen would be appropriate. Google is in a ‘no-win’ situation with this one, so I can see why they decided to leave it alone.

Agreed. Bing is acknowledging it and I’ve starting using it more and more. Also dogpile.

Who cares about Google and their logo? I use them for search, and right now no one else can touch them, in terms of news search.

If we have to depend on Google to remember 9/11 , what have we become?

They’re probably afraid they might “offend” someone.

Perhaps some of us prefer to support a company which shares our values. I’ve been able to find pretty much anything I want on the Web without googling.
