Coast Guard fired on boat in the Potomac, nothing on the wires yet...

Some dufus translates a guy saying "bang, Bang" On on scanner frequency and CNN put's it on the air as "bullets flying, ten shots fired!
Just who you going to investigate?
The river patrol was done with their job for the morning and used the extra time to run a scenario. This is something they do all the time. There is no notice needed of required.
If some radio snoop misunderstands what is happening, who's fault is that?
CNN blew this when they went to air with a false story. Investigate that.

Yes, something is going to happen. This country is going to learn a lesson. Knowledge once learned has been forgotten and needs to be refreshed.
I don't know how you prepare for this exactly. You just need to be prepared. I have been prepared for decades. I thought Carter was bad and would be the lesson, but it was not to be. I thought the fall of the Russian empire would cause a world war, but it did not.
I had my guns loaded for weeks after the 2000 election and nothing happened. On 9/11 I was prepared, something did happen but I could not help. I remained prepared.
Here I am again, prepping for something I can't see, and there is a good chance nothing will happen, but I am prepared, none the less.
That's all you can do.

The military, the Coast Guard, and all branches, and even civilians like hospitals and first responders do these short scenario training things. You do them when you have time.

If it was a drill, then the boat has likely returned to its marina. If it was not, then surely it has been impounded.
Apparently, the press for taking radio traffic (not a first time use of "bang bang" in training) as conclusive evidence of an intercept and live fire.

LOL....Your not getting the picture. The Boat was one of the other patrol boats. It even had blue lights on it, but CNN did not wait long enough to air their crap.
They simply used one of the other boats for the drill.
Are we sure CNN reported first? I thought the wires had it first.
I would hope that those in charge had forethought and would know this would create havoc.
There are 364 other days of the year to do this.
Who ever started this exercise was damn stupid.
Answers to questions:
Will back through and ask press for advice so confusion doesn't happen again.
Articulate round instead of firing actual rounds..... Normally notify at the beginning of drill that it was a drill, will check to see that this practice was done...Possible that news agency did not have radio on at beginning of training exercise.
