Official: No Ukrainian adoption for Elton John

KIEV, Ukraine – Elton John will not be able to adopt a 14-month-old Ukrainian child because the pop star is too old and isn't traditionally married, Ukraine's minister for family affairs said Monday.

The pop signer toured a hospital for HIV-infected children in eastern Ukraine on Saturday as part of a charity project and said that he and his male partner David Furnish wanted to adopt an HIV-infected boy named Lev.

But the country's Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko told The Associated Press that adoptive parents must be married and Ukraine does not recognize homosexual unions as marriage.

Thank God that this formerly "godless" country will stand up to the latest ones to claim that title. Now just wait for the gay mafia to demand nuclear war against Ukraine.

Good for Ukraine.
I didn’t know Elton’s John was still alive.

Just go to Africa and buy ‘em like Angelina, Elton. I think you can even get a volume discount.

The old U.S.S.R. allowed neither homosexual adoption or open homosexuality.

I hope this holds up and they don’t cave for money. What a freak life that child would have had.

Elton John will not be able to recruit a 14-month-old Ukrainian child (fixed it!)

I’m thinking Elton John and David Furnish probably have more comfortable means available to them for a HIV+ infant than an institutional Ukrainian orphanage.

Why doesn’t he and his “wife” have one the natural way?
After all, homosexuality is normal, isn’t it?

I’m thinking Elton John and his “partner” will use the denial as a publicity hammer to whack at the Ukraine’s values on a global scale.

I almost expect the Obama administration to try to pressure Ukraine to change its law—of course Elton John is not an American citizen but half of his fans in the US may not realize that. If Obama wasn’t already up to his neck in other problems of his own making, he might consider this a “teachable moment” for campaigning against “homophobia” (especially since gays are an important part of his base).

Godless ? Only in government the Orthodox Church remains.

And now even in Russia ( probably Ukraine too ) prayer is allowed again in schools etc.

Yes, that's a definite possibility. I'm sure he'll seek for the MSM for coverage.
Whether Elton John and his partner David Furnish adopt a HIV+ baby or not doesn't impact me at all.
I do think the kid would have a better life given their means, compared to an orphanage.

If they care about the child, they could provide the funds for him to be adopted and cared for by a normal married couple. In fact, all the rich, unmarried celebrities adopting needy children could do this - provide for the children to be adopted by parents who can give them a stable home life.

They apparently wish to adopt an HIV+ child to raise for some reason.
Supplying money to others won't provide them a son or daughter.
I'm not a parent, nor do I wish to raise a child myself, yet it's a strong drive for many.

Supplying money to others won't provide them a son or daughter.

Proving that it has nothing to do with love of the child. It's ALL ABOUT THEM!

I can imagine the horror of that poor child would equal the torture of the one year old adopted by gay Frank Lombard of Duke University. He started sexual relations with the one year old boy, filmed it, put it on the internet for his gay friends, and invited them to come join in.

No amount of money can get that poor boy's innocence back and you think it's fine for another child to be exposed to that?

Don't even try to say that Lombard is an isolated incident and that will never happen with Elton John. Once they cross one societal barrier regarding sex, they have no problem with demolishing any of the other barriers. Homosexuals like them young. The younger the better in their minds. According to Duke U. Lombard, it's better when they can't talk yet and recruitment into the gay lifestyle is their intent.

Not sure if he has demonstrated criminality in the past as I've not read his history in detail.
My knowledge about him is limited to his popular tunes from the radio. I know he is a flamboyant gay guy.
It would be really nutty for a guy in his mid-sixties to rape a baby. He would also need to be one of those crazy "bug-chasers" given the whole HIV+ angle.

I guess they want to support their own child.
If he doesn't wish to send money to others, I suppose that's his choice.

I suppose that's his choice.

That's right, it is his choice whether or not to contribute to the well-being of the child, in the absence of a personal ownership interest for himself.

Blue Jays posited the dichotomy of the child's remaining in the orphanage, or being adopted by Elton John and his sex partner, as if there were no other possibilities for the child's care. That it is not an accurate appraisal.

The gay male at Duke University was not a spring chicken but he didn’t have any problem molesting that baby. Age has nothing to do with the depth of gays’ depravity.

I have other words for “nutty” — depraved, deviant, disgusting, vile. And you think Elton “flaming” John is not really “nutty?” So you think it’s not “nutty” for a man to dress up in neon colored feather boas and high-heeled platform shoes? It is not “nutty” for a 60 year old gay male to want to adopt? It’s not “nutty” for a man to want to raise a child in a family consisting of two males without a mother? It’s not “nutty” for a man to glorify wanting to put his private up another man’s rear and try to raise a child to believe that is normal? I suppose your world has a different color sky.

Not sure of the approximate lifespan of a HIV+ infant without Googling it.
Are the Ukranian orphanages completely without abuse?
I'm sure horrific conditions are represented within those institutions that would exceed being raised by some weirdo like Elton John. Lots worse happens in this world.

You're getting all wee-wee'd up, bro! ;-)
I don't give a fig about Elton John. He sings a handful of songs I've heard on the radio and has a couple million dollars to show for it.
Beyond that, he wants to adopt a HIV+ baby and I'm guessing there many people willing or able to do that.

Elton John has more than enough money to sponsor a real family to adopt the child. Sir Elton has enough money to build an entire new orphanage in the Ukraine. There are so many things, other than adopt, that he could do if he truly cared about the well being of the child. But the well being of the child is not his real goal is it?

You’re obviously so wrong on so many counts, I don’t know where to start.

First you and Zero can keep your wee wees to yourselves. Second you and old Elton may have a wee wee, I did say may, but I’m a woman, so don’t call me bro. Third, your assertion that your level of involvement in this issue is just listening to Elton John music is disingenuous, and belied by the amount of time and effort you’re devoting to this thread.

Finally, Elton John should be kept as far away from this little child as possible, your protestations not withstanding.

Hopefully the many people seeking Ukrainian babies will be able to provide a home soon.
Finding a spot for the HIV+ infants will be tough since they likely face a shortened and tough life ahead.

I can see your point. A liberal Quaker woman I used to work with brought up the arguement of “who is going to adopt all those children?” if the issue was abortion or gay adoptions. I never had a good answer for that. In my entire life, I’ve only known a handful of couples who’ve adopted children.
