Fellow freepaholics:
I need assistance pulling up info on those in Congress who have been "bought" by special interests, big business, big labor, overseas influence. This includes congress, president, past presidents, etc.
The vision: the 60-s and 70-s were branded into peoples minds with the music, sights, sounds and protests.
The Goal: Brand the tea party & spirit of limited government with remade song parody of 70's songs like:
The Who: Who bought you? Who? Who Who? Who?
Ideas to get this started: Clinton: WTO jobs to China, Mob mentality of unions, Insurance company giants buying out politicians, Greed, Bribes, on BOTH sides of the Aisle. The Fed pushing poverty on our population. Anything where Politicans and the Constitution don't see eye to eye.
This idea was bouncing around in my head for a while...I could use some help putting something together.
Websites, sources, voting records, associations...anything!
Thanks!
They’re all bought, doesn’t matter who you pick. Joe Wilson, currently the hero to many, has taken 1.6 million in campaign contributions from special interests.
Great video idea, though.
Bonus question: What movie soundtrack was it from? (And no assistance from the audience, dammit!!!!)
***I am on vacation the week of 9/14, and will have limited access to my graphics, my avatar, and my pre-planned smartass comments. I will be returning to my computer the week of 9/21, and will resume offending you then, as time permits - thanks to all in advance.***
Ever see the movie None of the Above?
The meaning behind Townshend's lyrics speak for themselves, and don't require any annotation, IMHO
But that's just me ... your mileage may vary ...
Cheers,

Bob Dylan -—
SEEING THE REAL YOU AT LAST
Seeing The Real You At Last
Well, I thought that the rain would cool things down
But it looks like it don’t.
I’d like to get you to change your mind
But it looks like you won’t.
From now on I’ll be busy,
Ain’t goin’ nowhere fast.
I’m just glad it’s over
And I’m seeing the real you at last.
Well, didn’t I risk my neck for you,
Didn’t I take chances?
Didn’t I rise above it all for you,
The most unfortunate circumstances?
Well, I have had some rotten nights,
Didn’t think that they would pass.
I’m just thankful and grateful
To be seeing the real you at last.
I’m hungry and I’m irritable
And I’m tired of this bag of tricks.
At one time there was nothing wrong with me
That you could not fix.
Well, I sailed through the storm
Strapped to the mast,
But the time has come
And I’m seeing the real you at last.
When I met you, baby,
You didn’t show no visible scars.
You could ride like Annie Oakley,
You could shoot like Belle Starr.
Well, I don’t mind a reasonable amount of trouble,
Trouble always comes to pass
But all I care about now
Is that I’m seeing the real you at last.
Well, I’m gonna quit this baby talk now,
I guess I should have known.
I got troubles, I think maybe you got troubles,
I think maybe we’d better leave each other alone.
Whatever you gonna do,
Please do it fast.
I’m still trying to get used to
Seeing the real you at last.
What’s the tune? Frankie Valli? (Who loves you pretty baby)

-— GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY
You may be an ambassador to England or France,
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance,
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world,
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
You might be a rock ‘n’ roll addict prancing on the stage,
You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage,
You may be a business man or some high degree thief,
They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a state trooper, you might be a young Turk,
You may be the head of some big TV network,
You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame,
You may be living in another country under another name
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a construction worker working on a home,
You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome,
You might own guns and you might even own tanks,
You might be somebody’s landlord, you might even own banks
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride,
You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side,
You may be workin’ in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair,
You may be somebody’s mistress, may be somebody’s heir
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk,
Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk,
You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread,
You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy,
You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy,
You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray,
You may call me anything but no matter what you say
You’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody.
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.
