Zbig Brzezinski, who enthusiastically campaigned for U.S. President Barack Obama, has called on the president to shoot down Israeli planes if they attack Iran. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?” said the former national security advisor to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter in an interview with the Daily Beast.
“We have to be serious about denying them that right,” he said.

Even though I was but a lad back then, I always thought this guy was batting for the other team when I heard his name mentioned.

You beat me to it. When Brezhinski was Carter's advisor, I was in my early twenties. I was about as clueless and disinterested in politics as the next twentysomething, but this guy pinged my radar, hard.
I've never thought that he was anything but a commie infiltrator.
I seem to recall a tank battle a few years back when we were dumbfounded at the advances they had made in armored warfare - without our help.
Unlike the U.S., the Israelis have been spending money on new air to air weapons. I wouldn’t want to get into a fight with Python 5 on the other guy’s wing.
I was thinking a little differently, like having our aerial tankers over Iraq forget the difference between Israeli and American aircraft.
Zbig was known as a staunch anti-communist. Carter was criticized from the left for having him in his administration. Don’t ask me what happened.
I can’t agree that this is Israel and Iran’s beef. This is the conflict of a good and democratic nation in Israel versus an evil and tyrannical nation in Iran. This is a case of one of our closest democratic allies being threatened by islamofascist warmongers. It would be my wish that our warplanes either assist or escort the Israeli planes in their mission. Unlike the Resident of the white house, I stand with Israel, not with Islam.
I do not mean to incriminate the good people of Iran with any of my statements. I believe that a great many of them are being held against their will by a terrorist regime, and my heart goes out to them as well.
This isn’t a Commie fight. It seems that the perennial rage is to hate on the Jooz, and Zbig is soldiering right along in that vein.
He is obviously in the running for Obama’s “green jobs” czar now.
So, Zbig was three inches to the right of Jimmih Cahtah. Naturally, the left thought he was too right-wing. They think Obama is too far to the right. They're all loons.
Someone please explain to me how Zbig Brzezinski (wasn't he in “Hitch Hikers Guide?”) is not committing treason by giving aid and comfort to our enemy.
