'He will destroy the Democratic party'
nationalreview.com ^ | Sept. 22, 2009 | Rich Lowry

This Washington Post story captures the stark divide over Afghanistan, with a unified military command on the one side — including McChrystal, Mullen, and Petraeus — and a president who is not sure he wants to follow through on "the counterinsurgency strategy he set in motion six months ago" on the other.

There's this anonymous quote from one observer: "He can send more troops and it will be a disaster and he will destroy the Democratic party.

Or he can send no more troops and it will be a disaster and the Republicans will say he lost the war."

Isn't this extraordinary? Obama will roil the Democratic party by sending more troops to fight the war that Democrats have said for years is the "necessary war" (in Obama's words), the central war in the fight against terror, etc., etc.

It's hard to imagine a starker demonstration of bad faith on an important issue of national security.

All right, it's established what's bad for the Democratic Party. Now how about considering what's best for the country?

Obama’s mission is well on it’s way. It ain’t about Democrats and weak assed Republicans.

It’s only a matter of time before the Jean Garafalo types begin saying that McChrystal intentionally lost the war in order to make Obama look bad because some people can’t deal with a black man in the White House.

The only thing that needs considered is neither Democrat or Republican, it is the very real liklihood that the Talinam and Al Qaeda will take Afghanistan back over and quite possibly, a nuclear Pakistan as well.

Do we really want nukes in the hands of Al Qaeda and the Taliban?

No, he’ll give up the public option for further regulation of health later and pull the troops for the DNC.

Pulling the troops is a global embarrassment to America and would be a bigger victory for the left knowing they have opened the door to more health care regulations.

As Obama should have learned from Marx at Columbia and Harvard: "History repeats itself, the second time around as farce."

There are useful idiots.
There are smug Harvard liberals.
And then there are really useful idiots who are also smug liberals from Harvard.

Obama is the Democrat Party. He and everything he stands for is the same crap the Democrat Party has been aiming for. Now they can deal with it. The big problem is it will hurt our country.

Every Democratic politician since Lyndon Baines Johnson has had this fear.

It was like a hurricane hitting New Orleans. They kind of hoped it wouldn’t happen. but it is funny how fate works. Any fool in our political system might think they could be a great President. Just like any Junior High football star thinks he could play in the NFL. Try catching a punt on a Sunday afternoon a bunch of 300 pound monsters bearing down on you quick. Or being a quarterback trying to read the Pittsburgh defense. It takes a special kind of a person. Not everyone can do. and many very GOOD football players never make. It is like that with being President. you have to have courage and conviction.

It is pretty clear. Barack Obama was never ready to be President.

We can wish.
But more likely, he’ll destroy the prosperity in this country for decades to come and embed Democrat operatives throughout the Federal Government.

Say Whaa? What's that? "It's all Politics." . (One of my favorite lines.) . Anyway, the agenda is to destroy America and Capitalism and Sovereignty and the Economy and the Military as quickly as possible. The New World Order, don'tcha know. Also, Obama's going to be the head of the UN and then the world. The US? Say whaa? He's looking at Life after America. Remember the book he was carrying around during the election. . .
