DENVER – An Afghan immigrant wanted to carry out a massive New York City terror attack involving hydrogen peroxide bombs on commuter trains to coincide with the Sept. 11 anniversary before federal authorities foiled the plan, a U.S. prosecutor said Friday.
U.S. prosecutor Tim Neff told a federal judge in Denver that Najibullah Zazi "was intent on being in New York on 9/11" for a possible terror attack.
"The defendant was in the throes of making a bomb and attempting to perfect his formulation," Neff said. He called the evidence a "chilling, disturbing sequence of events."
Neff ordered Zazi, a 24-year-old Afghan-born coffee cart owner in New York and Denver airport shuttle driver, transferred to New York City to face charges of conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction. ..

On a local forum here, I saw someone post exactly that and on Sept. 11th.
If that wasn’t bad enough, they then reposted and included tobacco.
This guy responded how he wanted to meet the person, kill them and run over their dead corpse repeatedly.
Although I didn’t share the sentiment, I understand exactly where the guy was coming from. Ended the discussion on that 9-11 thread. And fast.

Thanks everyone! My wife promises she won’t be one of those anti-war “Jersey Girls” that got all the press blaming President Bush after 9/11. She’ll be out there calling for vengeance and blaming President Obama! Probably won’t get much press despite multiple disabilities.
And Gator, I wish I could say you’d have to pry the ammo from my wife’s “cold dead hands” but she’s not much of a gun person and the only shooting I do is at the range. New Jersey is not much for personal handgun ownership you know!
And Jersey177, take a look at those fans over the steps on the new double decker rail cars on NJT. They’re sucking air in and not part of the regular HVAC of the car. I haven’t asked but I figure it’s part of an air sniffing system.
Barack Obama should seek some face time with Jeremiah Wright and ask him if this TOO was “chickens coming home to roost” and what our President should’ve done differently in the past 7 months to not make this terrorist hate us so.
The Tang bomb works by breaking an oxygen off the H2O2. Probably the sugar and/or citric acid act as a catalyst. This releases a huge amount of oxygen inside a fairly strong container, such as a 2-liter beverage bottle. They can take upwards of 200 psi. When it blows, the rapidly moving gases and particles of plastic can cause some serious damage to people nearby. But they aren’t on the scale of a good TAPT bomb.
Bombs generally work by generating large amounts of gases very rapidly inside strong containers to build up high pressures. The container fails catastrophically, suddenly releasing gases that travel at high speeds along with pieces of the container.
