I see a lot of entries that aren’t fire departments. There are a number of housing authorities and even some universities and hospitals and nursing homes. But I also see several Unions listed on that grant list. For example, the International Association of Fire Fighters in DC got $749,987.00
Virtually every other organization receiving fire prevention grants is a fire deparment or medical facility.

Google ACORN grant site:.gov and you get 47,300 responses. Have fun, people.
The results are slightly more focused if you search +ACORN +grant +2009 site:.gov.

That’s a good search strategy.
Via it I was led to Issa’s report on ACORN which has been referenced a few times on FR already.
Is ACORN Intentionally Structured As a Criminal Enterprise?

Issa’s report is worth reading due to the numerous references within it.
buffalojack has used it as a tagline for a while.
