Yea, I long for the good ol' days when Republicans drove government in exactly the same direction as Democrats, but at a much more leisurely pace.

She’s good, married to a sarge, and just had their 2nd child.

Awwwww, congrats to her and to you, grandma!

He’s deploying to Afghanistan soon.

As you may remember I am a huge supporter of our military!
I've never been so worried about our men and women in uniform as I am now with that usurper in the People's House.
Prayers for yours and all those willing to serve at this perilous time. (not the wars, the usurper)

I’m not boasting

Why not! You have every right to do so. We enjoy our military moms and dads boasting and keeping us informed. So please...BOAST! ;*)

More illegals, more spending, and a flat stock market. No thanks.

I miss the good old days when the Republicans were screwing up the country.

I think the best we can hope for is gridlock. Reagans only come around every hundred years or so.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Obamanation.

Just because a person correctly recognizes W as a terrible president, and the person who opened the door for the most liberal member of the Senate to follow him, doesn't mean he likes Obama.

No thanks.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

The man loved his country, supported the military, and managed to keep us from getting blown up since 9/11. At least adults were running the country.

Let’s see how the illegal situation, the spending and the stock market are working out in a year or so.

Hell, at this point I even miss Clinton.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I know, I know. I’ve been saying we had it made with things like Whitewater and the Rose Law Firm to worry about, and an occasional missle to wag the dog. And Monica was pure soap opera. He wasn’t a moral man, but he wasn’t as scary as Obama.

It amazes me how some people can twist everything so horribly.

Reagan ... One who can act on the world stage without getting us in an endless war.

Yeah...he simply ignored repeated terrorist attacks against our troops, interests and civilians overseas.
You may recall 241 Marines were murdered while they slept in Lebanon.
Then again, we were not attacked on our own soil during his tenure, so no need to wage an "endless" war.
An endless war that was continuously waged against us for 21 years until there was ONE man, ONE leader, that had the guts to stand up and say ENOUGH!

Bush renegged on his promise to not get into nation building,

That was during the 1999-2000 campaign season...BEFORE WE WERE ATTACKED ON OUR OWN SOIL ON 9-11, killing 3000 within a little more than an hour.

I suppose you think we should have gone in and got out like Clinton and Bush 41 did? That worked out real well for both of them, didn't it? Leave a vaccum and it will be filled! THINK!

his promise to fix social security,

HE TRIED!!!
Perhaps this will "refresh" your memory.
Or better yet...
this one from a damn republican!
Then there is this one...

Please note the dates and enjoy this great photo to help you recall.
RATS w/ FDR statue

and a promise to control spending.

He controlled spending as best he could. He was PRESIDENT not a member of CONgre$$ who are the ones that control the purse strings.
He said he would cut the deficit in half within 5 years and he did...except it only took him 3.5 years.
Again, perhaps a picture will explain it better.
Projected Deficits

And PLEASE do not refer to TARP last fall. You people that STILL do not understand what happened, or refuse to see, have grown tiresome.

He invited millions of illegals to America by neglecting enforcement.

Oh hell...President George W. Bush did not invite them in, they have been flooding into the country since the flood gates were opened in 1986 when they were granted the one and only AMNESTY ever given.
1986...Amnesty...figure it out!

As Kristinn says here...
with President Bush, more has been done to secure the borders and reform our immigration system than under any other president.
...it should be recognized that our borders have always been open and illegal immigration has been a problem that has not been adequately addressed by presidents for decades since President Eisenhower's Operation Wetback.

I recall he put border guards in jail.

Again, he was the President. I didn't like that any more than anyone else, but he allowed the system to operate. He did get them out before he left office.

So do I miss him yet? YOU BET I DO!!!

How on earth did I miss this gem?

It amazes me just how many on FR are pining for the one that gave us to our present leader.

President George W. Bush had nothing to do with the current usurper in the white hut.

Folks like you, with your constant snipping and repeating the rats talking points ad nauseum,
and McCain and his gang of RINOs stabbing President Bush in the back,
and the total lack of spine from the republicans to stand up to the damn commie demonRATS when they repeatedly pulled their crap including committing treason,
and ACORN and the criminal enterprise that is Obama/Soros...

THAT IS WHAT GAVE US THE CURRENT resident.
