COPENHAGEN, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara warned on Wednesday the 2016 Olympics could be the last Games, with global warming an immediate threat to mankind.

Tokyo is bidding to host the 2016 summer Olympics with Chicago, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid also in the running. The International Olympic Committee will elect the winning candidate during its session on Oct. 2 in the Danish capital.

"It could be that the 2016 Games are the last Olympics in the history of mankind," Ishihara told reporters at a Tokyo 2016 press event ahead of the vote.

"Global warming is getting worse. We have to come up with measures without which Olympic Games could not last long.

I hadn't realized drugs were legalized in Japan.

If they want someplace to hold the Olympics, I can suggest central Ohio - I didn't turn on my A/C a SINGLE time this year.

Hopefully this stupid pander by Japan to the IOC means they won the Olympic games. I would love to see Chicago lose.

Once they succeed in taxing productivity and modern lifestyle back a few centuries they can start on the really important threats like Gigan, King Ghidora, Mothra, etc.

Personally, my money is on Rio. I don't believe South America has ever hosted an Olympic event and the weather in Rio in August is spectacular - very moderate, and very dry.

I just don't see how the America-hating Olympic committee picks the US over the Rio or Tokyo, especially considering that the Winter Olympics were just in the US 6 years ago, and they'll be back in North America next year. It looks bad for Barry, Orca and the worst lady.

I don’t want Chicago to lose. I just want them to kick out all the Dems by 2016.

re: 2016 Olympics could be the last Games

Having them in Chicago could be a major step in that direction. Sure, let’s have them in Chicago, what could possible go wrong?

Uh, immediate? If global warming was an immediate threat, there would be no 2016 Olympics. That's almost 7 years away, pal!

Here is the math if we are not in a mini ice age. Jan 2008 began this solar minimum. Jan 2016 will be the 8th year of the solar minimum.

It would be best if an area between 35 degrees north and south of the Equator were chosen and at a lower elevation.

Madrid, Chicago and Japan are outside that area.

We wouldn’t want all those cold starving people begging outside the sport halls for clothing, jobs and food.

By then they will be taxed for breathing, so we should say we don’t want the poor, cold starving people outside the sport halls begging for food and foreign currencies, clothing, jobs and firewood and carbon credits.

Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm The cold air is coming!
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm The EPA is shut down
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm The Big Apple is Frozen Custer
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm The people marching south
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm FEMA’ is looking for storms that never come
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm People praying for more Sun
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm The Windy City is shoveling snow in summer
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm
The summer athletes crying foul.
Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmm!

Olympics for Chicago 2016 - The Cost to the People of the United States:

A - The First Lady:

1. Unhidden cost of her US aircraft to and from Copenhagen? 2. Cost and detailed list of accompanying staff currently on the US payroll?

3. Cost of accompanying staffs' accommodations, food, refreshments, local travel (taxi), Official Transportation, etc. for First Lady's party?

4. Any additional aircraft for First Lady's party, for folks like family, press, dog, Secret Service?

5. Amount Opra is reimbursing the USA for her envolvement and that of her staff for #1 - #4, above?

6. Amount the Chicago Olympic Committee is reimbursing the USA for the First Lady's envolvement and that of her staff for #1 - #4, above?

B - POTUS

1. True and total unhidden cost of Air Force One for the trip to and from Copenhagen?

2. Cost and detailed list of accompanying staff currently on the US payroll?

3. Cost of accompanying staffs' accommodations, food, refreshments, local travel (taxi), Official Transportation, etc. for the POTUS's party?

4. Any additional aircraft for POTUS's party, for folks like family, press, dog, Secret Service?

5. Cost US picking for accompanying Press Corps, including travel, accomodations, food, refreshments, etc.?

6. Cost of flying the POTUS "big black car" and the accompanying Secret Service vehicles, drivers, fuel, staff accomodations, food and refreshments?

7. Amount the Chicago Olympic Committee is reimbursing the USA for the POUS's envolvement and that of his staff for #1 - #6, above?

C - Total net expense for "A" & "B" to the USA Tax Payers?

All I ask for a a true and honest (if that is not redundant!) of this "excercise" to the American Public. I'd be interested to also know who has personal vested interests in the possible favorable outcome for this adventure, specifically relating to the possible sale of real estate and other servicees should the Chicago Olympic Committee - 2016 be successful.

That's all I ask. Starting to think of the length of time a snow flake or many snow flakes can survive in Hell while I await the answer to the forgoing questions.

When will someone in the "main stream" news business address any of these questions and share the results with us.
