It accomplished absolutely nothing, except for ruining the Olympics for a bunch of kids who had worked their hearts out preparing for years for those Olympics that Jimmah boycotted. Ask those athletes how they enjoyed being political pawns. You don’t use the games as a political cudgel. And at the time that Carter did it, all the conservatives thought it was a terrible idea.

like so many things in this world/life, it aint gonna be the way it 'used to be'...
that kind of naivete is more dangerous than ever, and the reality that WE the People are finally starting to push back, and not backing down from the 'lesser of two EVILS' arguments are scaring the poopie outta the mushy middle...
