Should have gone to the Afghan woman - that would have sent a real message. Sharia = slavery.

Rather than recognizing concrete achievement, the 2009 prize appeared intended to support initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change. Empty award for an empty suit ........ this decision denigrates the Nobel Peace Price to a 'zero', just like the recipient.

The Nobel Peace Prize means nothing anymore. It’s just a bunch of liberal crap.
How could Obama have done anything in his first 2 weeks of office that would justify this?
Throw him under the Nobel bus with Al Gore.

Freeped.
No, this man has done "Jack" and "Squat".
To: Paige
Well, it looks like he delayed a decision on Afghanistan long enough to get the award. How many soldiers died for his ego?

The Deadline for Nominations for the prize is February 1st. He was Sworn in 11 days earlier on January 20th. You think he hasn't accomplished anything in 8 months, how about those first 11 days that justified the nomination in someones mind?

I lost all respect for the Nobel outfit when they awarded the honors to Jimmah Carder. The dumbest president the USA has ever had.
And now this, to a person that has not accomplished very much in his life.

The Peace Prize has been a sign of ignominy since Arafat. Of course Obama got it.

Buried in the fifth paragraph of the article is the truth, 'this Nobel Prize means NOTHING'. Although it was likely not their intent, the Nobel committee is consistent by stating ZERO deserves NOTHING.

OMG ~ when I saw the headline I wanted to vomit. He has done NOTHING, in fact less than nothing!
Wonder how much George Soros paid the selection committee.

History is made: the first affirmative action Nobel Prize. Meanwhile, more deserving candidates are left in the fairy dust of Obama's illusory "accomplishments."
"Speculation had focused on Zimbabwe Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, a Colombian senator and a Chinese dissident, along with an Afghan women's rights activist."

He's done nothing? He lost his bid for the Olympics.
They gave him the Nobel to soothe his ego and make everyone forget about his Olympic failure.

Greatest single news event of 1938 took place on September 29, when four statesmen met at the Führerhaus, in Munich, to redraw the map of Europe. The three visiting statesmen at that historic conference were Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain, Premier Edouard Daladier of France, and Dictator Benito Mussolini of Italy. But by all odds the dominating figure at Munich was the German host, Adolf Hitler.

I wake up this morning and hear we have bombed the Moon, and Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize for hope and change promises that were never kept.
