Vietnamese media use fake photo to accuse Journalist Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and to cheat public.

An Article Published in the October/09/ 2009 by newspaper DanTri in Hanoi indicated police arrested two suspects as they committed assault other people are journalist Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and her Husband .

The photo which shown an injured man Nguyen Manh Diep in the hospital (Anh Nguyễn Mạnh Điệp bị đánh vỡ đầu) actually a fake photo . The photo was taken in 2005 and later photoshop the date imprinted on the photo to Oct/09/2009 In order to make it looks genuinely as the recent date .

We ask you for support and intervention for the release of journalist Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and her Husband for wrongly accusasion by Vietnamese Authority.

The true facts:

Vietnamese police allegedly attacked and later arrested journalist Tran Khai Thanh Thuy and her husband Do Ba Tan. On 08 October 2009 at 8 pm Do Ba Tan was on the way home from a restaurant and was literally a few feet from his house when a group of Vietnamese police suddenly assaulted him . Journalist Tran Khai Thanh Thuy on the balcony heard a noise and she looked down the street and saw her Husband was badly beaten by a group of Vietnamese security police . As she was ran down the stairs and yell for help , suddenly, she gets hit by a rock in the head from the same group of police . It was scary how much she bled . Thuy's husband rushed her to a Hospital, where she received stitches . There was so much blood , her condition remaining severe at this time . Thuy and her husband were reportedly taken into custody at 9:30 pm on Oct/08/2009

Communists have always forged photos to suit their needs.

There was a good book on this that covered it in Mother Russia, Cuba, China, and Vietnam. Also covered were examples in Nazi Germany.

A later book covered similar ground but omitted the chapters on Vietnam and Cuba. Maybe the second author had some sympathies.

There will be more and more of this as the US has, with Mr. Obama, abdicated its previously assumed role as mentor to Việt Nam. The constant pressure to improve things that was exerted by the Clinton and Bush administrations has gone. Domestically the bureaucrats and commissars are increasingly empowered and more apt to act on their own fears of things getting "out of hand." There is no USA reward for good behavior, no pat on the Hà Nọi head any more. In its foreign relations Việt Nam cannot any longer count on the US for insulation from Chinese pressure and Hà Nọi knows it must placate con Rồng Bắc, the Chinese dragon.Conversely we cannot rely on the huge and capable Vietnamese army to be so strong a buffer against Chinese adventures in Southeast Asia.

I fear what I will find when I go back there and go back I will, so long as a visa is still obtainable.
