NOT 'GLEE'-FUL! Fox Show Disinvited From Macy Thanksgiving Parade By NBC (The war on Fox)
Deadline Hollywood ^ | October 12, 2009 | Nikki Finke

Those morons at Jeff Zucker's company have stepped in it yet again. It's bad enough NBC can't get anyone to watch its piss-poor network primetime shows, but now NBC is making sure the American public can't watch other networks' shows as well. (This follows an earlier report that NBC doesn't want the Jay Leno Show to book rival networks' TV stars.)

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is known for annually including "cultural touchstones of the moment" in its broadcast, from every American Idol winner since the 2nd season (a Fox show) to the stars of High School Musical (a Disney Channel show). Not a peep out of parade broadcaster NBC.

But then, a month ago, the parade producers (who aren't part of NBC) invited this season's hot Fox show Glee castmembers to march and perform during the parade. "They wanted us to have the cast ride a float down the parade route and do a number at the end," a 20th Century TV exec tells me. "Late last week, we confirmed that the Glee cast was able to participate, and we began to talk choreography."

But, on Thurday, the studio received a call from the parade producers disinviting the show. "They called all mortified and apologetic. They said that after conversing with NBC they had to withdraw the invitation because NBC was forcing them to.

According to the NBC people, the parade was not going to promote a Fox show on their air." The parade producers acknowledged to 20th TV that NBC has never vetoed a single act booked in the past. Funny thing is, Glee airs opposite NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; that's hardly the same demographic. So what the hell is NBC's problem?

But now the agenda is to punish and snipe at Fox.

Sounds like Fox needs it’s own parade. After all they DO OWN a network.

This year's Macy's Parade needs a Tea Party!

Imagine hundreds of Gadsden flags in the crowd that the cameras just can't avoid.

The gauntlet has been thrown.

Fox is in a serious battle. Their enemies intend to see Fox cease operations.

I wonder if Fox has the will? Or will Fox eventually drink the kool-aid? After all, Rupert Murdoch is not an ideologue. If it requires a leftward lurch for Fox to remain viable, count on it.

The left truly DO want us to divorce...

Of course, they “gleefully” rub their hands at the chance to use the power of the State to punish those who disagree with them.

I use TVGuide.com to make a list of shows I want to watch and record during the next 2 weeks.

On my current list, I have zero NBC programs.

I will watch Chuck when it returns. They already pulled Southland [which may return via TNT], and they may bring Chuck back earlier and with more episodes than they originally had planned.

This is just like a high school jock punk who gets his butt kicked on the playing field going around picking fights afterward. Thug behavior, but then we’re talking NBC so what’s new?

Wonder if COMCAST will put up with this BS? I’ve read they plan to keep Zucker and the management team in place, but unlike GE, they’ll feel the impact this bunch of losers has on their bottom line a lot sooner...

Rupert has an ego the size of Montana. He’s not going to let the bullies tell him what to do. He didn’t become fabulously successful by bending over for the competition. I don’t think we need to worry about him bailing on what has made his network so powerful.

Freep the Parade then on to FOX to show our support! Then head over to the competition and show our support for Fox again. We can pull the Acorn treatment. Obviously it worked.

That’s fine! Let GE/NBC act like little bitches; let their arrogance be on full display.

Anyways, does anyone watch the Thanksgiving parade shit anymore?
