Columbus Attorneys Disapprove Of Orly Taitz's Actions
Ledger-Enquirer ^ | 10/13/09 | Alan Riquelmy

Posted on 10/13/2009 10:55:29 AM PDT by steve-b

Columbus attorney William Mason has seen "birther" lawyer Orly Taitz on television and read about her in the newspaper.

He's quick with a description of the California lawyer: "She's nuts," Mason said. “Based on what I saw and read, she's nuts."

Mason said her court filings don't appear written by someone familiar with the court system. Also, members of the Georgia bar, to which Taitz doesn't belong, aren't allowed to advance an untrue cause. And, he said, she's never been able to support speculation made in federal court that President Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States.

For attorney Frank Martin, Taitz's actions are so egregious that she should be disciplined.

"First of all, a lawyer has an ethical duty not to advance an argument that either you know is not true or you do not have an honest basis to argue," Martin said. "She's the type of person who gives lawyers a bad name."...

Unorthodox is not necessarily “untrue”. Legalistic minds were made for the construction of board games. The real life still exists out here.

Good one. If that were the case, 80% of the attorneys I know should be disbarred

How dare a citizen or a soldier ask for proof of eligibility.

Wow, that lawyer surmised all those acrimonious thoughts from reading a newspaper article?

Why doesn’t Barack Obama just show us his long form birth certificate and not spend up to 2.4 million dollars hiding it. It’s that easy.

If Obama shows us the long form, then we’ll believe him. Until then, the onus of doubt and suspicion is on his shoulders.

Oh yes, Steve-B, you forgot the “Barf Alert” tag but other than that it was a good posting.

It’s time. It’s time for Barack Obama, illustrious winner of the Nobel Peace Prize to show his stuff. Show your stuff, Barack, by showing us the long form birth certificate.

It’s okay if you’re not half-white, you know what I mean?

Who says it's untrue? Isn't that what she is trying to resolve? Who's the brilliant legal mind now...??

Unorthodox is not necessarily “untrue”.

But "nuts" generally is "nuts".

She hasn't been allowed to prove/disprove it.

No Steve, that argument is plenty stale. And the price tag is over $2 million of somebody’s money. That’s a lot of cash.

We’ll see how it plays out.

The relevant comment in the article:

"It's more than an attack on Judge Land," Martin said. "It's an attack on the federal judiciary. I think she’s confused that she's at a town hall meeting. She's in a courtroom."

How can she know it’s untrue?

What is known is that his father was not a U.S. Citizen. And depending on the definition of “Natural Born” that you accept, he is therefore not a “Natural Born” citizen.

We all know that the courts have been legislating from the bench and pushing political agendas. To now sugest that the courts are above politics is just rich.

No she won't. Read her case. Orly argues that Obama was born in Kenya and supports her claim with two different "Kenyan" birth certificates but she goes on further in the briefs she has filed that even if he was born in Hawaii it wouldn't matter due to Obama's father's Kenyan citizenship.

Orly is calling for Obama's removal (or resignation) regardless of where he was born. Obama volunteering his long form BC won't put an end to Orly's crusade. She'll just claim it's fake and/or argue from the "two citizen parent" angle.

He needs to prove he is constitutionally eligible, that is all that is being asked. If this was a republican president you know damn well it would be the top issue and require immediate resolution.
