He just said to his parents on Wolf Blitzer You guys said we did it for a show. Wolf didnt seem to notice. Video at the link.
I bet there will be a BIG bill for all the rescue costs!!
It’s obvious this entire thing was a publicity stunt
gotta love the Youtube for this one.
What a hoax. Hungry for fame? uh huh
OK folks. We have officially entered the silly season.
Wolf Blitzer is to journalism what Michael Vick is to protecting helpless dogs.
I’m sorry but I get the impression the entire family are “attention ho’s”
.... hell, dad will probably win the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.
Just like on Jeopardy. :o)
Publicity for what?
I don’t get it. How do the parents profit from making their kids pretend to be on a weather balloon?
I actually said a prayer for what I thought was a poor, little frightened boy up floating away in that balloon. Shame on these cons for involving their kids and the whole country in their little publicity stunt! They should be billed for the trouble they caused.
Obama and the kid and the rescuers will meet at the White House for some grape soda
He is an amateur scientist, he sends videos to CNN all the time chasing tornadoes and such. He probably wanted publicity for his stupid balloon which looked like a bowl of jiffy pop. Going on Wife Swap, TWICE. Media whores from what it looks like. If this wasn’t a stunt, how come the kid said that. Kids that age can’t keep a story straight when told to lie
Lol Someone brought it to Wolf’s attention and he mentioned it at the end of the show. The dad got very defensive. That convinced me it was a scam.
I was praying all afternoon...all I kept thinking of was this poor boy racing through space scared out of his mind.
time for an ass-kicking contest and the dad can furnish the ass
So did many of us pray for the boy.
I have done hoaxes in the past, but have been careful not to do anything that would cause people to pray based on false pretenses. That would be really bad.
Book deals, movie deals, attention for their new invention...numerous ways.
Wolf is dumber than that guy who kisses Conan’s ass.
Racist. Should be root beer.
Who'ud thunk ?
Film at 11; YouTube and Twitter updates as necessary.
Wolf Blitzer is to journalism what crap is to a diaper
I thought Chef boy r dee lost his hat
I was trying to come up with a suitable analogy. Yours was way better. :)
Wolf is just further proof of what kinds of morons CNN employs. The kid admits it was all a scam and Wolf just sits there with that “I’m a dumb ass” look on his face
How many lives were risked in tracking this farce???
If someone did some jail time for this kind of crap the silly season would come to a screeching halt.
What a coincidence! Me, too!
They were on that idiotic Wife Swap reality show a few months back. I think they just couldn’t let their 15 minutes of fame go.
Daddy gives out bad vibes.
Does anybody else think the dad looks like a younger Rod Blagojevich? He’d do anything for press attention, too.
Yeah, I’ve got a relative like him too. Can’t stand the guy.
wife swap reality show??
What is that? skinemax?
Hmph, I see they will hand these out to just about anybody!
Wasn’t Blister with Bernard Shaw in the hotel room in Baghdad the night the bombing started and they were broadcasting live. I think the cameraman was the only one not under the bed crying like a baby...
people could have been hurt “trying to rescue his kid”. if this was a hoax shame on them, and any money they make off of this for a criminal action (hoax) should be paid in restitution to the emergency personnel that responded.
Neither of the parents made a coherent statement. Sounds like they knew what was going on. I hope they have to pay the costs of this. I prayed so hard for that little kid!
Nope. ABC prime time.
Al Capones vault? wasn’t that a couple hours of crap on tv and cnn had this vid on for a couple hours?
These parents are just plain sick and twisted. Wonder how soon before this guy will run for Congress, he would fit in that place perfectly? Those two older boys could NOT hide in their faces that daddy and mommy L I E!!!!!
Yes, I am repulsed and could not bare to watch the TUBE to hear the ‘death’ reports that had to be coming since the child was NOT in the balloon when it landed.
I kinda smelled a media whore here early on.
1.) Parents allegedly called a local TV station to report the incident rather than 911 or police
2.) The whole story broke and was resolved in time for east coast prime time news
3.) The couple have previously appeared on ‘Swapping Wives’ indicating they like being in the limelight
4.) The math just doesn’t work on that helium balloon being able to lift that much weight.
Moreso than Obama did.
These children did not think in those terms. They were told to do this,....except the part of repeating what their father said in their presence, "We will let the spaceship loose, already filled with helium, claim our six year old child is in it, manipulate every media outlet in the country, so we can get ratings up for the show. We'll do it for the show".
That is the process a six year old kid would have to go through in his mind to come up with his explaination...."We did it for the show."
That’s what was breaking my heart. Thinking that kid had fallen a few hundred feet after lifting off.
In a moment of sanity, I was trying to use my science background and guess the volume of the helium in that thing to determine if it was enough to carry a 6 year-old kid.
But I really did think that it took off and he and the “box” fell to the ground.
Maybe my next box of Crackerjack will have a birth certificate in it, showing that I was born in Hawaii.
The new “Science and Tech Czars” or the new “Fight the Smears” (truth) Czar.
Maybe Barack will invite them for some koolaid in the White HOuse?
