CNN - Fact-check a SNL skit about 0bama, but slander a conservative without one iota of fact-checking.

I agree with your post but I would attribute the quote to John Paul Jones.:-)

He doesn't seem that concerned about any damage he did. I hope Rush sues.

It's easy to apologize after you've done the damage. Kind of like when Sanchez was involved in a hit&run DUI episode that killed a man. “Opps, hic, my bad, hic”

Has anyone bothered to look at Rush's attempt to join one of the most elite group of capitalists in America from the NFL Owner's point of view? After seeing whats happening to the “evil” insurance industry, the “evil” financial industry, the “really evil” oil industry and any other way for an industrious individual or group of investors trying to make a profit, who in their right mind would want Rush Limbaugh and all the attention he brings to the table trying join in any venture they are involved in? If the NFL Owners would have allowed Rush to join the club, their heads would have been the next target on our Socialist Government's agenda. Can you imagine The National Football League being Nationalized? I'm sure if things keep going the way they are, it will eventually happen, but why would anyone want to speed up the process? The outcome of Rush's bid to become even a minority owner was decided long before it was even a twinkle in Rush's eye.

Thank you for the correction! Although Roosevelt used it as his rallying cry in 1936.

I truly hope so, Emily. He has been damaged severely by this, even if he doesn’t imply so on the air. The fact is, the perception is that he was dropped from the deal because he’s an open racist. Regardless of the facts, which 80$ of the population won’t bother to look into, he’s now tainted in the public arena.

Poor Rush—it’s a “when did you stop beating your wife?” situation.

But wait..isn’t the NFL full of felons and wife beaters?

That’s the real hypocrisy. Rush is bad for exercising his free speech (for the one questionable thing he said re: McNabb, the rest is all lies) and the rest of them can commit felonies, etc...and still collect their massive paychecks.

CNN's Sanchez: "We didn't confirm" bogus Limbaugh quote

SO HE'S ADMITTING TO LIBEL?

Elements of proving libel is to show that (1) the statement was false, and (2) it was issued either knowing it was false or with reckless disregard for the truth. Not bothering to try to confirm the quote qualifies as "reckless disregard"

Sanchez has just given Limbaugh's lawyers all they need to seek a summary judgment against CNN.

Weren't we supposed to boycott Beck for less? Seems like everyone on CNN is throwing hate speech around about Rush, including how he could/should die - and no word of sponsors pulling out. I am really shocked by the hypocrisy! (sarc)

[This is a tactic abused by the left time and again against Republican or conservative personalities.]

I have been saying this for a long time. Look at the different way news articles and TV news portrays conservatives and liberals: a perfect example is the execution of the man who burned his three children down here in Texas. All of the news is speculating that Gov. Perry is trying to hide something and that there is “new” evidence that seems to prove this guy was innocent. But, you wouldn’t know that this man had over a decade of appeals, including FOUR to the United States Supreme Court, and he was TURNED DOWN! This “new” evidence is just a new “review” of the same OLD evidence. The report review states that the reviewer believes the evidence does NOT support arson; HOWEVER, arson can NOT be ruled out as a possible cause.

You, see they are so busy talking about Rush not getting into the NFL, that they don’t have time to talk about the actual cause: the lies, the race baiting, the bickering over his views, etc... And the liberals will say, we covered that story. No, they covered a PORTION of that story, but they didn’t bother giving any details that would show the big picture - THAT is the bias that people are just now starting to see.

The current news corps give out selected and edited results - not the news as a whole! They do it all the D@MN time!

An excellent observation. For decades the left apply pressure against morality, institutions, family, government, never enough to break anything at first, but to bend it, to make it uncomfortable, to expose vulnerability and to force cracks in the foundation.

Whether it’s bad publicity directed at a company (Jackson/Sharpton/NAACP/HRC) or incrementally rising property taxes/regulation/court rulings, eventually the target just throws their hands up and wants it to end.

They are like a virus who wears a body down until it can’t defend from external threats.

Some quotations from the novel 1984 which describe the radical left and their ideology quite well:

“Never again will you be capable of ordinary human feeling. Everything will be dead inside you. Never again will you be capable of love, or friendship, or joy of living, or laughter, or curiosity, or courage, or integrity. You will be hollow. We shall squeeze you empty and then we shall fill you with ourselves.”

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever.”

Remember Joe the Plumber?

Another perfect example: they did more research on Joe the Plumber in 24 hours than they did on Obamao in 24 MONTHS! And news story wasn’t “Can you believe what Mr. Obamao said?” It was “Can you believe Joe isn’t a licensed plumber?” and “Can you believe a man who owes back taxes actually talked to Obamao?”!

Then when the story broke about the background checks on Joe, again the story never was “You remember Joe the Plumber who asked the President so and so...” It was simply Joe the Plumber that McCain made famous! McCain said Joe the Plumber XXX times during the debate!

They gave a portion of the news, but totally FAILED to actually address the portion concerning Obamao’s response. Or they would just gloss over it and move on into an in-depth look into the life of Joe the Plumber!

If there is a problem, create an illusion AROUND the problem and then report on the illusion! Problem isn’t solved, but the sheeple forget about the problem and start thinking about the illusion! Happens every single day on the news! Everyday!!
