President Barack Obama, who has a tendency to stick himself into the middle of racially biased conflicts that are of essentially no importance, owes that courtesy to one that captured national headlines for nearly a week. In understanding the vital importance of genuine issues of equality in a post racial (a.k.a. "Obamian") age, he owes it to the NFL, DeMaurice Smith, Donovan McNabb, Jennifer Lopez, Serena Williams, Fergie, and Ja Rule to invite them, along with Rush Limbaugh, to come enjoy a beer on the White House lawn with he and that Vice President of his. Of course, given Biden's history of racist statements towards Indians, Pakistanis and even Obama, perhaps he could learn a thing or two.
Just imagine...
...But one topic of conversation that would actually be helpful to everyone watching, for no doubt CNN and MSNBC would provide non-stop coverage (or make it up out of thin air) of it as the most important event in human history, would be: "Why are openly racist, divisive, and vulgar people allowed to be owners in the NFL, while one other man who has no history of racism whatsoever is prevented from it?"

After 9 months, I’m so fed up with this man, I cannot adequately describe it without being banned.
My b/f says I’m naive. He’s a recovering liberal from Chicago who voted for Obama in the primary. When I showed him what I had learned, just from fellow FReepers, he switched. He has become a pariah in his family because he turned into a conservative, almost overnight. He’s now more conservative than even I am; and there’s a bargain here....he’s got stones. He gets into it with friends and family. I can’t tell you how shocked I am. He says I opened his eyes but trust me, I’m not that good of a salesperson!
But I had hoped, even though I didn’t vote for Obama (I didn’t vote at all; I’d just moved and hadn’t registered) that he would sorta “grow” into the job. Clinton was no favorite of mine, but even HE seemed to be “presidential” as time went on. Not this guy. He still behaves like a two-bit community organizer on the south side. I had hoped that the office would magnify him and make him understand the weight of the office. It hasn’t done that. He has remained the small, petty, idealogue that he was from day one. He’s not growing in the role; he’s shrinking the role of president to accomodate his smallness and pettiness.
And our enemies seem to have noticed.
My sleep habits have suffered since 1/20/09. I find it hard to sleep and wake up throughout the night. Feels like I have to be on guard 24/7 to see what this administration has in store for us.
I lived through a bunch of presidents, even Carter. Never, until now, have I been terrified of my own president.
But this one scares the hell out of me.
Beer summits are to used only as a charade to help Obama get himself out of bad spots he put himself in being a wise ass, or a dumb ass.

I actually think Sharpton, like the Clintons, are pathological liars and believes he is really telling the truth when he lies.

There is a certain...ah, ethnic group...in this country that needs to shift its focus from trying to prove it is not racist to responding effectively to mortal attacks from racists of other ethnic groups.
