Excuse me, but how the **** does voting for a Conservative Party over a pro-gay, pro-abortion, socialist help Obama win in 2012?

Ever hear of a guy named Ross Perot?

Ever hear of a guy named Bob Dole? Or John McCain?

RINO-ism won't win in 2012.

Scuzzy doesn’t belong in the GOP, period. The GOP is better off with the Democrat winning this seat than her.

Go Hoffman.

Ever here of “Read my lips, no new taxes” and another “old guy” as the head of the republican ticket?

Straw-man arguments.

Ross Perot didn't help Obama win then and he won't help him win now. The third party argument is a strawman -- this is the kind of election we can use to show the national party that it needs to listen its base for a chance.

This is a conservative website. We support conservatives here. Dede isn't one of them, so we don't support her. Hoffman would caucus with the Republicans, so I don't see a downside to defeating a liberal. I trust you don't either.

Perot wouldn't have gotten any traction had Bush 41 stuck to Ronald Reagan's conservative principals.

Where besides NY is there a third party contest at this time? Wondering because this is a State event rather than a National event such as was Perot.

There is a difference. I’d alert caution as well were this a National Election event, and the numbers were dubious for the third party candidate(s).

Perhaps the republican party should learn from their mistakes for a change, then.

I am strongly in favor of a third party. Something like the Green Party, that will siphon liberal votes away from Democrats and help Republicans get elected.
