Obama’s belief to deny the right for the citizenry to possess weapons has been documented too many times to count. His actions from day one clearly outline his attitudes and his negative interpretation toward the 2nd Amendment. Anyone that voted for Obama that believes otherwise is a misinformed idiot.

I'm growing convinced more everyday that Obama will do only that befitting a street organizer- beer truces and all. He's never had any other experience, folks.

His efforts on Health Care Cuban Style are failing which suggests he's not even that good at 'organizing'.

Do we have to go throught these next three years or could we just 'opt' out somehow?

I never heard that one before. Was it published somewhere, or do you know Dr. Lott?

I heard Prof. Lott tell the story as a guest on a talk radio show, maybe Medved or Prager, but I don’t remember for sure which one.

There is no question in my mind that zero would confiscate every legally-owned firearm in this country tomorrow if he thought he could get away with it.

True.

Purchases of reloading equipment is way up, too.

People are buying guns and ammo for one reason - to defend the constitution, if need be, and that pertains to potential gun bans and ....uh....er.... other needs for constitutional protection that may arise.

I have no doubt that many are scrimping and saving to stock pile as many guns and as much ammo as possible.

Thank God, we’re ready. We’ve gone ‘galt’ a couple years ago and are doing minimal to contribute to this catastrophe.

Do you have self-sustaining generation capacity? Gasoline generators are the most expensive power there is -- I was in Hurricane "Ike" last year and was glad to have access to generator power "some" of the time -- but the generators are expensive to operate, very expensive on a kwh basis.

Best would be to own an old natural-gas well on your property, and let that drive a small generator and provide your heat. One guy in Ohio found a capped well of considerable antiquity in his basement when he was remodeling about 15-20 years ago. He uncapped and tested it and whaddayaknow, it flowed very small residual flows of natural gas, enough to take care of his house and actually back out some of his production through his meter to the local gas company -- for which he got meter credit (i.e., he was effectively selling it at nosebleed retail rates to all the other gas-company customers).

Never say “never.” There is nothing this administration isn’t capable of, nor the congress. If congress thought there was a solid chance of zero being made a dictator in perpetuity through a constitutional convention (after zero has his loyal domestic military in place, which will be made up of an entirely different breed of cat than is in our regular armed forces), they would vote for firearms confiscation immediately because they wouldn’t have to worry about re-election.

Whether they would succeed in the confiscation is another question. I know our first inclination is to believe they’d never succeed, but how many will really stand with us when their lives and their families are threatened? How many would run the risk of being killed and leaving behind several kids with no support? If you carefully read about the discussions, articles, memes, notes of meetings and public speeches surrounding the final days before the Revolutionary War began and continuing after it finally began, you will see that most people were unwilling to risk their lives and take on the British. They were frightened for their families, themselves, the loss of property, and for many other reasons. Any stand against the government places the rebels at a HUGE disadvantage tactically, strategically, financially, and logistically. The government has all the toys, the heavy artillery, the satellites, virtually unlimited resources, the communications centers, the organization - in other words, the infrastructure. No rebel organization has any of that. We live in houses with our family members. We are vulnerable with or without our guns.

What needs to happen more than anything is to start a full marginalization of the left. We’re doing a moderately fair job of marginalizing the slimestream media, but much more has to be done. The brain-dead members of our society who are paying no attention and only get small blurbs here and there from the evening slimestream news and a lefty rag newspaper here and there because they’re too worried about Angelina Jolie’s hair and who’s going to win American Idol have to be reached before we would ever have enough weight to politically overcome and administration movement to take over this country. The left must be completely marginalized. Armed rebellion should be somewhere down around Plan Z on the list of ways to keep our country.

Good point. I’ve heard about this before. This was floated under Bubba, too, I think. Zero has a much better chance and likelihood of making a go of it. He’s got the means for the necessary infrastructure needed to pull it off.

People are not buying guns because they fear bans.

I agree. They rightly foresaw the all-out communist destruction of our economy and our freedoms. Obama and his followers have done nothing to dispell those predictions. The arming of the citizens is simply a deterrent to the collectivist horrors we have seen in every other nation that fell victim to such governments.

Since September 2008, law-abiding American citizens have passed 1.1 million NCIC checks for firearms purchases (does not include purchases by concealed permit holders, and each check could have been for the purchase of multiple firearms). That's more than 14.3 million firearms purchased in the past 13 months.

Each month in the same period, law-abiding citizens have purchased 600 million rounds (per month) of ammunition for those firearms, for a total estimate of 7.8 Billion rounds of ammo.

We obviously don't have easy access to heavy artillery, tanks, fighter jets, smart bombs, predators, etc., but we have equipped the largest infantry in the world. What has been purchased in the past year is probably less than one twentieth of what was already in the possession of law-abiding citizens from previous years.

There is no question that law-abiding American citizens hold more than enough rifles and handguns to equip every member of the combined militaries of Russia, China, India, and the USA with more small arms and ammo than they can carry.

The effect of this deterrent may already have saved millions of American lives from this illegitimate communist regime. None of these arms have been used aggressively, nor does any reasonable person wish the country to devolve into a war-torn cesspool. But we do intend to reclaim our Constitutional republic, one election at a time.

Folks, who is going to confiscate the guns? The FEDS? That’s laughable. One, they don’t have the manpower. Two, many people in federal law enforcement agree with the 2A. Three, the Feds couldn’t organize local law enforcement to pick up dollars on the highway much less assist them in the Great Gun Grab. (Psst, local LE generally dislike and distrust the feds)

Local law enforcement is not going to assist with a gun grab and if they do they are going to see large numbers of cops and deputies siding, rightfully so, with the citizens.

You think a local LE officer is going to shoot one of his own, someone they have been through doors with, simply at the behest of the federal goon squad?

Feds are in for a serious disappointment.
