You are making a huge mistake then. I have been running W7 since May with absolutely no issues.
Now have W7 Ultimate on all of our work machines (we are MSDN members and got early release last month). it uses less than 50% of the resources of Vista, boots within seconds instead of minutes, and uses about 50% of the HD space as Vista.
It is fast, user friendly, have yet to find one compatibility issue.
To be honest I am surprised it is a MS product, it is that good.
Have already pre-purchased home premium for all my machines at the house. They will all be loaded tonight.
Does it keep programs organized in one place?
My husband has had it on his laptop for a few months now and loves it.
WooHoo! I was forced into upgrading my aging hardware a few months ago and will get a free upgrade to W7 in a couple days.
Very glad to hear of your experiences.
I preordered 7 back in July when the upgrade was $40. My older laptop could really use the help and I’m looking forward to the new package. I never used Vista (both my computers are XP) so I’m curious about the learning curve.
The libraries feature is VERY intriguing.
I agree - have been running W7 as well. It is a dramatic upgrade from Vista in every respect.
This sounds good to me....our PC is approaching 10 years of age, and it shows now. I'm a computer lightweight, but I do know that I shouldn't have to let this thing "warm up" for 15 minutes before I even try to get online.
We stopped by Best Buy yesterday just to axe some questions, and as expected there was hardly a PC on the floor....all out someplace getting 7 installed.
We'll be pulling the trigger very soon.
I also have been using it for about a month. I really like it. Fast, stable, and somewhat intuitive.
Its pretty funny - I work in IT and support about 15 XP machines in my personal life. Had a guy call me last night and ask about an XP problem and I had to remote into an XP box on my home network to talk him though the fix step by step. I’m starting to forget XP already and really liked that also.
The computer can’t tell you the emotional story. It can give you the exact mathematical design, but what’s missing is the eyebrows. - Frank Zappa
Quick question - I am eligible for a free upgrade to 7 with the ‘puter I just purchased. Do I have to uninstall all my applications first (Office Suite, Firewall, etc...)? I don’t want to bugger my warranties and licenses, but also don’t want to do more than I have to. I know enough to backup all my data/pix/music. I’ve never upgraded from one O/S to another before.
