Reporting from Kennett Square, Pa. - As he is quick to point out, President Obama is presiding over two wars, a sour economy and an epic fight to rework the nation's healthcare system.

Now tack on a trio of state and local political races. With an off-year election fast approaching, Obama is stepping up his commitment to Democratic candidates in hopes that an infusion of campaign charisma might pump up turnout.

What the party is finding, though, is that the electricity of 2008 is tough to recapture.

Some Democratic candidates running for local office around the country call the phenomenon the "Obama hangover." It is proving tougher to recruit volunteers and get people to vote.

Well, he's had his ugly mug on tv nearly every day since he was elected. People are just fatigued by all of the over-exposure.

I read on another thread that Obama spoke to a half-filled ballroom of some Democrat candidate's supporters. If he can't even fill a ballroom with faithful Democrats within his first year in office, you know his mojo's gone for good.

At least part of this is due (I think) to the fact that there were people who got out to vote for BO on Nov. 4, 2008 who ordinarily wouldn’t bother to get to the polls for any other election. These people don’t care about civic participation in general, much less voting for Democrats.

“an epic fight to rework the nation’s healthcare system”

Heh, gotta love MSM euphemisms. The healthcare system works now, but would do anything but if Obama gets his way!

Not just any Democrat candidate. Deval Patrick, the Obama test-run. The first ‘yes we can’ candidacy. And in MA, no less.

All that Obooboo know how to do well is campaign. Governing successfully is proving to be very hard for him. He is a political hack and can only return to the smoke and mirrors that got him elected. Half of the useful idiots that voted for the empty suit have seemed to have wised up about him...at least I hope so.

Without the fraudulent votes (far more commonplace in national elections) it’s almost impossible for the libs to win. They know it. That’s why they always campaign as conservatives. The only ones stupid enough to campaign as liberal are Republicans supported by the RNC ...think New York 23rd.

The DNC won't give out free cigs in an off year election

Right on! The Repubs will waste or mismanage any advantage they have or will have. Corzine will win in NJ, mostly because the voters of NJ are morons who keep voting for criminals and miscreants. What is the RNC doing to win in NJ...not much. They have no balls period!

With the spotlight on ACORN voter fraud, it might be harder to get the illegal voters out to vote. Doubt if we have any precincts voting over 100% this time.

It appears that Mack Daddy Obama has failed the test-run.

I said some time back that by 2010, Obama will be positively radioactive to Democrats seeking re-election. Looks like he's ahead of schedule.
