Afghanistan election run-off will be logistical nightmare
Growing Taliban power, inaccessible terrain and non-existent infrastructure makes the Afghan run-off a huge logistical challenge.

A fleet of 3,500 trucks will be needed to carry voting materials to the polling stations and 3,000 donkeys to get people to remote areas.

Afghanistan's 94,000 soldiers and 84,000 police, backed by 100,000 Nato-led forces, will be on duty to protect polling stations, but hundreds more will be judged too dangerous to open.

Around 6,500 polling stations were opened for the Aug 20 poll, but many will have to be moved for a second round to prevent a repeat of the fraud where remote, unobserved ballot boxes were stuffed with votes.

Western election observers want to see hundreds of the 165,000 polling staff used in the first round fired for their role in fraud.

Months before the election, the Taliban ordered a mass boycott of the poll, using letters pinned to mosque doors and radio broadcasts to warn voters of death or mutilation.

Finally, a worthy job for ACORN...let them delivery ballots to remote areas of Afghanistan on donkeys. I'd pay to see them try to stand in the middle of some remote village and "organize" the Afghan people.

But they will not be “responsible” for the hundreds, maybe thousands of deaths at the hands of the taliban this UN exercise in stupidity will cause.

“Afghanistan election run-off will be logistical nightmare”

Not to mention extremely risky and perhaps deadly for our GI’s, who are restrained by the McChrystal/obama kinder gentler ROE’s!

Who is the ACORN candidate? I like Karzi. I like that he fought alongside our men and was even wounded when one of our bombs hit too close to the team he was leading.

This runoff is a scam. Obama just needed an excuse to put off doing the right thing in Afghanistan. And the right thing is this: ensure that our troops aren’t dying in vain in a hell hole.

Obama is a real POS politician. And our troops, their families, and our nation are paying the price for his political angling expedition in Afghanistan.

It’s not about another election.

James Carville is pissed his candidate didn’t win. Yes he was trying to get Abdullah Abdullah elected.

It ain’t a legitimate election until OBAMA says so.

It takes a long time to get an election done there, but not according to Obama.....just weeks.

As with Obama it’s ALWAYS deception and psychological tricks.

Don’t worry, John Kerry will handle this.
