The attorneys representing Ingmar Guandique told a D.C. Superior Court judge on Friday that they believe that Chandra Levy was killed somewhere other than Rock Creek Park, where the former congressional intern's remains were found.

I don’t believe for a minute that this fellow killed Chandra Levy.

But I’m not going to fight about it.

On one hand we have an illegal immigrant and on the other a Rat congresscritter who was having an affair. Gosh..it is hard to decide which to hang..so maybe we should just hang both of them.

Nothing like giving the defense grounds for appeal from the get-go.

It almost sounds as if the agent sneezed on it. (No face mask.)

Or bled on it. (No gloves.)

Heh.

The thing here is that the original investigating detectives do not believe that this guy did it. This guy was already in jail when they needed a convenient perp. They have yet to have a trial for this case as they have NO evidence...cause he DIDN’T do it.

I believe with all my heart that Gary Condit killed Levy but for whatever reason, political expediencey...whatever...the DC cops needed to “solve” the case...they took this easy target.

They have nothing on this guy. Condit’s never been able to prove where he was that day.

But hey, they got a guy in jail, he’s been charged with the crime but I’ll sell you a Brooklyn bridge if this case ever goes to trial. The DC cops look like they did their job. The accused perp, well he’s in jail anyway.

and who knows, someday Condit might want to run again. It will sure look better if someone’s charged with the murder he committed.

I don’t know, but some other papers deny it was an FBI agent, but that it was an employee at an outside lab that was hired by the FBI. In any event, a major problem (rolls eyes).

Well, Fishtalk, I believe the same and I know a strong case could be made against Condidit.

This was a hot topic here at FR before 911.

Below a link to my True Crime Blog.

http://fishtruecrime.blogspot.com/

Hmmmm. I remember reading every word on Condit. I joined Freerepublic right after the attacks on 9-11. I am a true crime buff, not that I’m necessarily proud of this.

Gary Condit, the only American to actually benefit by the attacks on 9-11.

I think Condit did it. I don’t think it will ever be proven that he did it but know that hey, he’s a congress critter...or was. They have aids and constituents and fellow congress critters...all sorts of folks keep tracking of their time. Yet on the day Levy ended up dead no one’s ever been able to prove definitively where the man was. How likely is this? There should have been some clue but nada.

This guy they got in jail, he’s convenient. The original detectives....they don’t believe this guy did it. Damn they had him in and under questioning a couple of times.

But boom, the fellow ends up in jail for something else...yeah threatening two women with a knife. Note...he did not kill these women and Levy was not killed with a knife. The crimes are not remotely similar.

But hey, it’s easy. The guy’s in jail. DC cops already look a bit dumb and let’s not forget that sniper was all over the place around that time and in general the DC cops look inept.

Easy enough to charge this guy, who was in jail already so it’s not like they took away his freedom or anything. This case will never go to trial. No prosecutor’s going to try this guy.

He’s in jail for ten years I think and I guess they’ll have to figure something out come time for him to leave.

I will always believe Condit killed Levy in a fit of anger.

Here's a small sample of the earlier Condidit threads.

Between the time Chandra's parents called Condit to tell him their daughter was missing and the time Condit called the police the next day, did Condit call Chandra's apt., or any of Chandra's friends, or go over to her apt. to see if she was there?

If he did none of these then IMO that means he already knew her fate.

If this is true then his silence during this 24+ hour period SCREAMS "I'm guilty."

Yup. Yup again.

Those cops charging that other guy...they’ll go to hell for that. They know who killed Levy.

Agreed, but if Condit was involved, he almost surely didn't do the dirty work; he likely hired out a goon or two or three.

IIRC, Indique was first arrested or brought in for questioning within months of the death, then released(?).

In the past, I've pointed out some similarities between the Vince Foster and Chandra Levy cases. The Indique lawyer brings up yet another common thread between them: they were both killed elsewhere, and the bodies were then both dumped in a deserted area of public parks under the jurisediction of the US Park Police.

Yes, I know that the crimes were eight years apart. But could the entire group of conspirators in one of them overlap with the entire group of conspirators in the other?
