I have wondered if her becoming involved, which she did on her own volition, was a stealth maneuver to make the people with valid questions look like nutcases. Just a mild suspicion I have about her.

embarrassing conservatives who actually believe there is a legitimate question surrounding the circumstances of his birth

That's a lie that been repeated over and over. It is NOT ONLY a conservative issue - many D's and R's have the same legitimate question!

You’re just plain old wrong, stockpirate. The only one whose efforts I attack (tear down, in your words) is Orly Taitz for reasons which I’ve clearly explained, multiple times.

I’ve also clearly and repeatedly stated my contempt and disgust for Obama. I don’t believe the BC will resolve anything or that the courts have jurisdiction or that the plaintiffs thus far have standing. In your opinion, that makes me unsupportive.

You haven’t bothered to read my posts or you would know who I support and what methods I think are worthy of pursuing.

As I said, I was repeating the gist of what constitutional scholars had written during the last campaign, in reply to charges that McCain and Sen. Chris Dodd were not eligible for the presidency.

What, are you saying the Constitution says the president must be born with the United States, and not a “natural born” citizen?

The former is very precise. In Federalist Papers, the writers said they purposely used the latter as a vague term that Congress would later define.

Again, this is what all these scholars were writing when the questions were about McCain and Dodd.

You’re saying the Constitution doesn’t say “natural born” citizen? You’re saying Congress did not pass various laws decades ago to define that?

If the scholars were in error, in what precise ways. Again, I make no pretense of being a constitutional scholar. I just followed these opinion pieces with interest as a citizen born in U.S. who had children born abroad.

The scholars gave the same interpretation as did U.S. Embassy personnel giving me U.S. birth certificates, saying the children were eligible for the presidency.

I realize I am late to this argument, but pls enlighten me on specifics. Thanks.

So exactly where on this thread have you attempted to "discuss" a "point" or anything else? Tsk.

When someone does legally remove Obama, I hope we see mass apologies from all the Birther Bashers. Also I worry how much the FR membership has been infiltrated by subversives. There are people here who look like their full time job is to support Obama. Subverting proper debate.

"We know very little about his movement to Malaysia, and it’s requirements for schooling and how this period may have impacted his citizenship."

We do know how it may have impacted his citizenship. Not at all. Nothing that happened when he was a minor could have had any affect on his American citizenship.

"The media has tried to place this folks in a loony-bin lock box themselves, instead of realizing they have a point, and siding with them at least in part."

If want them to take questions about his history seriously, you don't further that cause by lumping it in with Birtherism. You've got to seperate out the legitimate questions from the kooky stuff. Not throw it all on one pot.

This is a bunch of BS. Cite the exact quote in which Federalist Paper you refer to. What, are you saying the Constitution says the president must be born with the United States, and not a “natural born” citizen?

The former is very precise. In Federalist Papers, the writers said they purposely used the latter as a vague term that Congress would later define.

A woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed to be far too qualified for the job.
The foreman frowned and said, “I have to ask you this; “Have you had any actual experience in picking lemons?”
“Well, as a matter of fact, I have!” she replied. “I’ve been divorced three times, owned 2 Plymouths, and I voted for Obama.”

MLO, what are your qualifications to make that assertion?

If his parents renounced his citizenship and declared him a Malaysian citizen, I’m not convinced he’s in like Flynt when he comes back.

Explain this a little further.

Futher I simply dismiss your assertion that his birth record questions exist only in the land of Kooksville.

In fact I would assert that making such a claim is in and of itself kook blather.

"If his parents renounced his citizenship and declared him a Malaysian citizen, I’m not convinced he’s in like Flynt when he comes back."

It's been detailed here on FR in various discussions. US law does not allow parents to renounce the citizenship of a minor child, period. They can't do it.

Even as an adult, you have to go through a process. You can't do it accidentally.

"Futher I simply dismiss your assertion that his birth record questions exist only in the land of Kooksville.

In fact I would assert that making such a claim is in and of itself kook blather."

Well I didn't make that claim, so I'm not going to worry about it.

There are kooky questions, and there are non-kooky questions. But if you want serious questions taken seriously, don't lump them in with the kooky ones.

She's an attention whore...
Those of us who think Orly is a freak are just enjoying making fun of her.
It's about HER. She's a freak.

Very interesting...

In contemporary usage, the word "freak" is commonly used to refer to a person with something unusual about their appearance or behaviour. "Freak" in this sense may be used either as a pejorative, a term of admiration, or a self-description.

You must admire her very much since she also has qualities such as Integrity, Honesty, Character, & Loyalty. In any case, welcome to the Free Republic! Orly Taitz is a certifiable loon has filed several of the Obama birth certificate lawsuits. It is regrettable that she filed them though not for want of merit in the case. Rather she is completely inept in the courtroom, tends to file legally incorrect typo and spelling error-ridden motions, has a bad tendency of missing court deadlines for her filings, has an equally bad habit of actively antagonizing the judges and other attorneys in the courtroom (including ones on her own side of the case), and generally comes across like a rabid raving cat lady on television.

Orly is venerated by a small but loyal contingent here on FR despite all better judgment and evidence to the contrary. And if you remind them of that evidence (including the fact that as recently as 2006, Orly was dropping $1,000 checks to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, of which Hussein was a beneficiary), they will persist in ignoring it out of cultish devotion to Orly, then make unsubstantiated attacks on your own conservative credentials.

Some attributes are sufficiently obvious that any reasonably intelligent person may detect them.

Hussein's communist tendencies are one.

Orly's lunacy is another.

And the cult-like following that some around here give to Orly despite overwhelming evidence of her lunacy is a third.

I have wondered if her becoming involved, which she did on her own volition, was a stealth maneuver to make the people with valid questions look like nutcases. Just a mild suspicion I have about her.

And it's an entirely reasonable suspicion. She and her followers have repelled honest journalists, attorneys and others who might have quietly and seriously worked on this issue.

She encourages people, over and over, to harass those who in any way oppose her or refuse to give her publicity. Anyone attempting to do serious research now has to contend with a siege mentality among bureaucrats and government workers who deal with a constant stream of crank phone calls, emails and faxes on a daily basis.

It's no wonder that most conservative talk show hosts, blog owners and Fox News steer clear of this issue. It's become a magnet for unhinged conspiracy theorists, some of whom care nothing about conservatism.

As the economy worsens and the destructive collectivist policies of Obama and the Dems go into effect, she has the potential to drive the unhinged over the edge, to the further detriment of us all.

Who sent Orly?

“O’Reilly would love a rally with Orly protesting him.”

Orly would eat him up because she has the facts on her side. BOR only has his defense of obama on his side.
