Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.
Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

If your plans are to continue reporting people by hitting the abuse button, you would be well advised to discontinue baiting people and then admonishing them via the abuse button and through your posts.
The way our Constitution and Bill of Rights are structured, all groups get the same protections of religious freedom. Should one group gain favor, others would lose favor, and the whole concept of religious freedom would be lost. Hence, the discussion of religious doctrine has no place among discussions of Constitutionality or government policy.

I’ve known plenty of libs from the 23rd...and injdependent-minded Volvo granolas, New-Agers, Country-clubbers, and those who just eat up whatever populist candy is passed out, but in general, I agree for both states.

but we all need be concerned with the plane of existance we are on....
do we have good friends?...
family?
do we know God?
can we enjoy the best things in life like music, the sound of children,the air after a rainstorm?
my point is this....when I get depressed about the world, I just live on my own plane of existance......I am happy there......forget about the whole world......concentrate on what you have that makes you happy and feel valued....God, your family, friends, the good air, music, etc....
this is the only way I can get by sometimes.......
my other theory is the train theory.......we're on this train and we are not the conductor......God is.....we go where HE wants to go....I can't stop the train, I can't change its course, I can't make it go faster, or slower......I simply have to ride thru the bumps and ruts of it .....its called life....and do the best I can....

Never mind that Newt threw away Reaganomics and replaced it with phony balanced budgets. The Dems have successfully played higher taxes as "fiscal responsiblity" ever since.

I will never vote for a liberal. Never have, never will. You can write that down.
I don’t think we’re that far apart. Maybe the difference is that I have values that I share with my family. My family knows that we do don’t abortion. It’s not an option. Outside of my family I don’t feel I have the right to tell others they can’t just as I wouldn’t want them to tell me I should.
My life and the life of my family is ours just as their life is theirs. I don’t cross that line.
Do I agree with them on some of those decisions? Usually not. Do I support their decision just because they’re in my life? No. Do I distance myself from them once I learn their decision. Usually, depending on the circumstance but, minimally, I think less of them.
Ex: if someone raped my daughter would I suddenly decide abortion was an alternative? No, I wouldn’t. I’d opt for adoption but truthfully, when all is said and done, I don’t know what I’d do and I hope I never have to face that. Depending on age, I do think, at some point, that I’d have to allow a child of mine to make their own decision and then I’d have to figure out a way to live with that.
That’s my attitude across the board.
Re: RINO’s. I don’t support them. I held my nose when I voted for McCain. During his previous run I couldn’t stand him. Then I voted for him praying that Sarah Palin would save us. (Bless her heart)
Still, for me, it all comes back to winning because by winning we have some clout no matter what louse we get. Republicans can beat up Republicans and they can listen or we can get them gone but beating up Democrats is just speaking another language. They don’t care what we think because they know we wouldn’t vote for them if hell froze over. Votes elect Presidents and Congressman and all kinds of critters we need to keep a eye on. To win that we need numbers.
