A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and photos) November 2009

November and winter is now upon us and it is almost frightening to realise it is almost a year ago that the election was held that made us realise that the previous 8 years of President George W Bush time as President was drawing to an end.

Even though it has been about 9 months since George W Bush left office for many it seems another age so much seems to have changed and many things we hold dear now seem to mean nothing.

We miss the class and character that George W Bush, his wife and of course his father and mother portrayed to the American nation and the world.

I hope the following photos will help us remember time of maybe great sadness and challenge for the nation but also a feeling that there was somebody at the helm that was strong, confident and above all put his love for his country and fellow men first and always did and said what he believed to be the right thing to do.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

baseballmom and I have been friends for a lotta years, and I knew she'd love those photos. :)

There's a giant ping list for the Dose, and I know DrDeb has her own smaller version. I would think that both could be shared for you to ping your fantastic photos and articles when you post them. :)

I know there are lots of freepers who respect and even love President Bush outside of the Dose, but the minority who hate him with a vicious level of hatred no different than that of those on the far left, would take great pleasure in destroying the thread.

It's what they do for "fun." They're sick people.

I just wish there were some way to call attention to the decent folks outside of the Dose.

I had no idea that you and baseballmon knew each other IRL! Cool.

I don't think I need the large ping list---but wonder about the usefulness of the smaller one. It isn't that my posts are that important, but I do feel badly when I leave someone out who would like to see some new pictures if I happen to be the one to post.

Do you use DrDeb's list, ohio?

MUST READ . . .

THE BEST AMERICAN PRESIDENT INDIA’S EVER HAD
Ashok Malik, 11.03.09, 12:30 PM EST
THAT’S GEORGE W BUSH.

. . . As Bush left the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit—a high-profile conference organized by a leading Indian newspaper—the ambassador of a major country, a NATO ally, could be seen shaking his head, recovering from the standing ovation the 43rd president had received on his way out (a repeat of the effusive applause on his way in): “Can’t think of too many countries where he’d get such a reception ... India and Israel maybe ...” “And Poland ...” his interlocutor added. “And Poland ...” the ambassador repeated, still a little dazed.

[And you shall know him by his friends: India (the world’s largest democracy), Israel, and Poland — and (if the media were honest) Iraq and Afghanistan!]

FYI: snugs, kaslin and STARWISE have the large, inclusive DOSE list. I have a MUCH smaller list of people who have either asked me to ping them when I post something and/or seem to enjoy reading the information I post. If you would like my list, please let me know.

It makes me wonder just how Obama will celebrate Veterans Day, since everyone knows he doesn’t give a rat’s rear end about our military, especially those in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I’m so glad he is getting the appreciation he deserves, even if it is on foreign soil. I sure do miss him.

Bill Clinton and George W. Bush to debate at Radio City

http://tinyurl.com/ygcb246

Excerpt:

Don’t expect a Steel Cage Death Match, but it will be a presidential duel for the ages:

ex-President George W. Bush versus predecessor Bill Clinton, for one night only.

The two ex-presidents have agreed to face off on the same stage as part of MSG Entertainment’s third annual “Minds That Move The World” speakers series

at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan on Feb. 25, 2010.

The Republican Bush and the Democrat Clinton - always cordial, if not exactly chummy - will “debate topics ranging from the economy, to foreign policy, to the current administration,” according to a statement put out Tuesday by MSG Entertainment.

Melissa Miller Ormond, MSG Entertainment’s chief operating officer, said the presidential smackdown comes amid “one of the most exciting and, at times, controversial political landscapes of our time,” and would aim to educate.

The debate - with a moderator to be named later - “will not only provide guests with an informative and empowering experience,” Ormond said, “but also encourage people to engage in continued dialogue surrounding the most significant current events of our day.”

The two men have actually shared a stage before, in Toronto in May as part a similar speakers series. The result was the kind of mutual admiration society that often follows from having held the toughest job on the planet.

In truth, two have been on better-than-speaking terms for years. Bush tapped Clinton and his father, former President George H.W. Bush, to head U.S. recovery efforts after the Asian tsunami in late 2004.

I’m a little surprised, I must admit, that Pres. Bush agreed to this, but I have a feeling there’ll be a few happy Dosers in attendance .. woo hoo!

Don’t make me laugh. Vets are just a photo op to Zero (who, tho Dims may not want to admit it, just got his butt whipped by proxy in the elections).

Oh, I think this has great possibilities. President Bush is much quicker on his feet than people think, and Clinton will be overconfident.

And Bill Clinton (like his wife) has a short-fuse and doesn't handle unscripted questions very well :)

"You got that little smirk on your face and you think you're so clever!" said the red-faced Clinton.

Not a fair contest when one participant is a truthteller, and the other one is a total fabricator. One is a gentleman and the other is a pig. One has a loving wife....

What in the world is the upside for GWB? I’ll be very surprised if he criticizes any BHO policy or action, so the takeaway will be “both former presidents support The One.”
