here we go, i know i am gonna get flamed for this one...company policy was very specific here, and this guy was stalked by a manager to get a reaction from him...yes, he was played politically, but the correct response when confronted on the issue would have been “ your personal business is your personal business, and i do not wish to hear about your personal life” and having said that, any further contact from the supervisor would be considered harassment, with her and the company liable in a lawsuit. this kid ( and he is a kid, with no way of knowing what was about to hit him ) broke company policy. his termination, although severe, is justified.

You are very wrong. All he did was state his opinion! Nothing more! His termination isn’t justified by ANY facts available in the article.

company policy was very specific here...
- Company policy does not equal law.
- Law does not equal right.
You've got to clear these two hurdles before you can convince us that we should just keep silent about right and wrong.

Would you answer that way if the woman instead was saying she was having an abortion that afternoon, killing her child not to mention wounding herself? I feel it's never good to cower from the devil, as long as you state things in a kind and Christian fashion, which the man in this article was doing. He took a "hit" for being Christian. While the Brookstone higher-ups gave it a full thumbs down, God, however (the Ultimate "higher-up"), loves that sort of thing.

his termination, although severe, is justified. "In accordance with company policy" is not the same as "justified." Company policy may be evil. If it is, market forces should be brought to bear.
