Boehner regrets Scozzafava support By: Jake Sherman November 2, 2009 04:04 PM EST

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said today he regrets backing former GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava for New York's 23rd district race.

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans," Boehner said of Scozzafava, who dropped out of the race Saturday. "She was out there promoting herself and we're doing everything we can to help Doug Hoffman in this race and we hope he wins."

Boehner's support of Scozzafava was a gamble. He donated $5,000 to her campaign and threw his weight behind her when some conservative Republicans considered her too liberal for the GOP.

"She'd fit in just fine," Boehner said in early October. "I've contributed to her election, and we're urging all of our members to help bring this race home."

It’s an aberation only because most states don’t have a viable conservative party to hold Republican feet to the fire.

Boehner is a loser. Wonder if he has the Nads to ask for his $5k back?

Send him one of your grow bags and tell him to grow a pair!

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans," Boehner said

Translation: Color me clueless.

The lady is more liberal than the Democrat in the race. Where was Boehner's head?

Watching all this is hilarious. You SHOULD regret it Mr. Boehner. It won’t help you, but you should.

I’ll beleive Bonehead Boehner is sincere in his apology when he sues Dede to get his $5000 contribution back.

Actually, her agenda is probably the SAME as most Republicans. Conservatives are fed up with it.

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans," Boehner said of Scozzafava...

And you're claiming you didn't effing look at her agenda BEFORE you gave her $5 Grand, and endorsed her? You should be dragged from your Minority Leader chair and thrown down the Congressional steps into the street, a$$hat!

It's that danged Internet and its unfiltered stuff. It is the biggest detriment to politics-as-usual that the country has ever known.

No wonder the politicians -- on both sides of the aisle -- would like to see it regulated.

I think Boehner might have been tempted to brazen it out before Scozzafava endorsed Owens. For a party hack, that’s the last straw. My advice to Mr. Boehner - lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
