Boehner regrets Scozzafava support By: Jake Sherman November 2, 2009 04:04 PM EST

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said today he regrets backing former GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava for New York's 23rd district race.

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans," Boehner said of Scozzafava, who dropped out of the race Saturday. "She was out there promoting herself and we're doing everything we can to help Doug Hoffman in this race and we hope he wins."

Boehner's support of Scozzafava was a gamble. He donated $5,000 to her campaign and threw his weight behind her when some conservative Republicans considered her too liberal for the GOP.

"She'd fit in just fine," Boehner said in early October. "I've contributed to her election, and we're urging all of our members to help bring this race home."

Actually, her agenda is probably the SAME as most Republicans inside-the-Beltway schmucks.

Fixed it. ;-)

People of Ohio, do your duty and rid the House of this fool... What does he bring? 2 consecutive losses of seats in the House? Giving $$$ to a candidate that we all could see was a DEMONRAT? WTF?

Run a conservative against him and get him the hell out... Just Damn!

The Internet and Talk Radio. I had never heard of NY-23, but it took me no time to figure out what was happening there, and I became aware thanks to Rush and Beck, and was able to make confirmation with the net. Boehner, Gingrich, et.al., need to fire their staffs and hire mine!

I'll cheerfully mangle a fundamental truth:

Politics is hard. It's even harder if you're stupid.

Can we please “Do a Hoffman” on Boehner next year in the GOP primary. Anybody know of a conservative in his district we can get behind?

Bump, not ready to throw him under the bus yet. Mistakes happen, learn from them.

Exactly. It’s no secret that Scozzafava is a hard leftist. Boehner and his cronies (e.g., Pete Sessions) just regret that their behind-the-scenes, move-the-GOP-further-left agenda has finally been exposed.

I’ll believe Bonehead Boehner is sincere in his apology when he sues Dede to get his $5000 contribution back.

Exactly. Each and every Republican should do that, starting with Boehner, Steele, and the NRCC. They have a small, very small window of opportunity to get this right.

Anyone dragging their feet or trying to straddle this fence or trying to sell another L in R clothing is going to be branded. No do overs after this one. They'll have sorted themselves out and permanently self-identified.

On the one hand, I give Boehner credit for admitting his mistake. On the other, the lack of discernment and judgment was egregious--especially when he was twisting arms to get dissenting colleagues to donate and endorse. The ones with the insight and good judgment not to were badly treated, and he owes them personal apologies, starting with Pence.

The good news is that, converts usually turn out to be the most ardent. Sometimes the only way for a person to shake free of a faulty position and come to a correct point of view is by getting badly burned on a personal level. We can warn and tell 'em til we're blue in the face, but, it's not effective. They know better.

But now he's gone and stuck his fork in the RINO electrical outlet. Nothing beats a hands-on learning experience. Maybe, that one frumpy, liberal goofball in NY-23 managed to do in one day what tens of millions of conservatives have been trying to get Republican leaders to realize for years.

"She'd fit in just fine," Boehner said
With the current makeup of the GOP leadership, she certainly would.

I would say this is an excellent demonstration why we need to clean house on ALL incumbents.
AMEN.

"This lady clearly has an agenda that's different that most Republicans,"

She's no more liberal today than she was yesterday, Bonehead.

She loves abortion. She loves gay marriage. She loves big spending. She's cozy with the unions and supports card check, which would deprive real workers of their votes in union elections. She is supported by NARAL and Planned Parenthood.

What is there about all that which you don't understand, Bonehead? Or you, Newt?

and average work-a-day Upstate New York voters were able to spot that. And you can’t. And you’re the Minority Leader of the US House of Representatives!!!

And now his $5000 is being used to fund robo-calls encouraging voters to vote for the Democrat, even while DeDe is still on the ballot as the official Republican Nominee.

Getting run over by a train steaming full speed ahead, tends to do that.

“Hey Boehner, if you close your eyes nobody can see you. Try it..”

But don't he have pretty blue RINO eyes? To bad he couldn't see clearly enough to realize the RINO’s have lost their cover and we will send them into retirement in 2010 and beyond!

John backed his fellow RINO, Dede, and now he is sorry? To bad, John, and tomorrow night you will see the real conservative Doug Hoffman win the election in New York.

Don’t forget that the entire House leadership threw their support to her and contributed to her campaign. That included Rep. Eric Cantor, whose devotion to conservative principles I am starting to wonder about.

“Everybody makes a mistake
the big question here is will they learn from it”

Bonehead was the second highest GOP house leader when he, along with Hastert covered up Mark Foley’s perversions.

Which cost the GOP the majority.

He is not worthy of his leadership role.
Replace him.

“This was no mistake.”

No it wasn’t.

I’m confused. The conservative movement is going to work their butts off to get more conservatives elected and by default will give this hack, Cantor and Sessions more power.
Thats crazy.

Get leadership that is in sync with us.
