TRENTON, N.J. Republican Chris Christie has defeated Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey.
With 71 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Christie had 50 percent of the vote to Corzine's 44 percent.
Christie, a 47-year-old former federal prosecutor, became the first member of his party in a dozen years to win a statewide contest in heavily Democratic New Jersey.
The Republican victory deals a blow to President Barack Obama as he readies for next year's midterm elections. Obama campaigned heavily for Corzine.

Hoffman has some votes to make up currently, fingers crossed, haven’t heard anything locally about turnout for the CA-10 race yet, turning the local news talk radio on to see what’s up.
CNN just declared Christie the winner. HELL YES, IT’S A GOOD NIGHT!!
NJ, really. I am praising someone but its not allah. Looks like more people are on the side of the 1776 revolutionaries than the Bill Ayers revolutionaries. How many years since their was an R at the end of the NJ governor?
I couldn’t believe the Indy switch. Guess they don’t like the direction of the Country via Obama and the Congress liberals.
Changing Tagline.
Congratulations New Jersey~

You’ve got it, Uncle Miltie.
FUBO!!!!!!!!!!!
we finally backed a winner and NJ wins and 0bama loses.
My guess: He’ll land a job in DC before the month is out.
Looks like the DEM won NY-23. I’m happy for my state of NJ tonight, but I’m pissed that the stupid NJ voters passed a 400 million dollar bond issue to buy “green acres” land. For crying out loud, on the one hand they bitch about taxes, on the other hand they authorize more borrowing and spending. Freakin morons.
It appears that a 6% margin is too much for ACORN and the democrat party to steal an electioon.
Actuarially, no way that Lautenberg lasts till 2014..( BTW..has anyone seen or heard of him lately)...so look for ole Frank to retire next month, for health reasons..so that Corzine can name his replacement...who BTW..Obama has already picked...
