I Have Been Invited to a Townhall Conference Call with Senator Hatch today.

Posted on 11/04/2009 10:37:35 AM PST by benhoganfan

This afternoon I am invited to participate in a townhall meeting conference call. Wanted to solicit ideas from my Freerepublic friends and what I should ask the Senator.

Hatch is to Conservatism what a bucket of warm horse sweat is to fine wine.

Still, it’s nice to know you’ll be able to have input. Good for you.

Give us a report BenHoganFan.

Good on you

Ask the Senator how Dems can get away with saying the senate bill only costs 845 billion and is deficit neutral b
when it is clear even to someone blind it will cost well over a trillion

After his support of Geithner and others in the Obama administration, I emailed his office and told them I was through with them and would support their opponent in the next Republican primary.

Tell him that if he is NOT thrown out of the Senate chamber EVERY DAY for raising hell with the liars, thieves and robbers of the Democrat Party who control the place, HE ISN’T DOING HIS JOB.

Tell Hatch to stop emulating Ted Kennedy and try to be more like Jake Garn.

He’s been in the Senate for 30+ years. Given the state that we’re in, what makes him think he’s part of the solution rather than part of the problem?

Does he ever ask himself before voting on legislation if it promotes freedom and liberty or further servitude to the federal government?

Ask him why he apparently values "Collegiality" and "Compromise" more than principle. Doesn't he know that when you "Compromise" with a democrat it means doing it their way?

Democrat "Collegiality" is a One-Way street. They say vile and untrue things about Conservatives ALL the time, and he never calls them on it.

Orrin caught LibAids from his intimacy with Ted Kennedy.

He was once labeled an arch conservative. Now the socialists reach down and pat him on the head and say “Good boy” as they go in and out the door.

You can let him know that we, who believe in the exceptionalism and wonderful generosity of the citizens of this nation, are tired as hell of being called names and considered to be THREATS simply because we believe in our Constitution and the freedoms it affords.

In a nutshell: Patriotic Americans WOKE UP and WILL NOT TOLERATE loss of our soverenty to a “one world government” or a “social justice/socialist government”.. and we’ll VOTE OUT anyone who DOES.

Ask him,

Part I.
“In the past two years, we have sent over a trillion dollars out of this country to purchase oil from countries that are not our friends. Next year, we will send over a trillion dollars, and the year after that and the year after that as well. Wouldn’t it do more for our economy than the supposed “stimulus” bill to drill our own oil here, tax the heck out of oil imports, and reduce our income taxes?”
(If he Bull$hits you about alternate energy, tell him that the cost per DOE last year is roughly:
- $ 0.50 per BTU for oil/gasoline/natural gas
- $ 0.60 per BTU for coal
- $ 1.20 per BTU for nuclear
- $ 28.00 per BTU for solar
- $ 32.00 per BTU for wind

... if we convert to wind and solar today and had all electric vehicles, it would cost about $3000 to “fill up” your car.)

Part II:
“Since unemployment is above 10% and since our population of illegals are above 10%, doesn’t it make sense to round up the illegals similar to what was done by Eisenhower in the 1950’s and send them all home? Wouldn’t this also help:
- significantly reduce prison over-crowding, court costs and law enforcement costs
- signifcantly reduce the number of “uninsured” that are treated at emergency rooms and hospitals
- reduce by a corresponding percentage our reliance on imported oil
- alleviate the water shortages they are experiencing in California

Part III:
- Shouldn’t we also cancel the H-1 B program when unemployment is above 5%? And shouldn’t we make employers pay a “training” stipend of $150,000 per individual that they bring over on an H-1B to be used to train Americans that supposedly don’t have the skills they are looking for?

Part IV:
- Will you actually take any action on any of these items? If so, what specific actions would you propose and when can we expect them?

He supports this bill:

http://24ahead.com/s/dream-act

Ask him the question at the link, get it on audio (*if legally permitted*), and upload it somewhere. If you can make it into a Youtube video that would be best, but if not I can do that; all I need is an audio file of some kind.

Ask him what happened to the 1977 version of Orin Hatch— the guy that effectively collared moderate Democrats from Nebraska and the South to filibuster ruinous union legislation when the GOP had an even smaller minority than we do now. We would like to get the original Orin with fire in the belly back.

Tell him he has gotten too cozy with the Washington status quo and he needs to take up some reform projects for a much smaller government. Use the deficit and debt to get the government out of all business beyond it’s constitutional function.
