Conservatism is the soul of our nation [Chris Simcox challenges McCain]
www.simcoxforsenate.com ^ | Nov 4, 2009 | Chris Simcox

Many thanks to Jim Robinson and Hildy who encouraged me to post here. I don't do much blogging or posting other than Facebook so you can go over there to learn more about me and my platform. I am running for the U.S. Senate in Arizona. I will be a primary challenger to John McCain. I am a Constitutional conservative. I need your support in our effort to right the wrongs of how our federal government operates and repeal bad laws, regulations and protect states. Thanks for taking the time to read all this and yes I look forward to your feedback. I'm just a common man, a citizen who decided to stand up and be counted when I started the citizen border watch movement, the first Tea party in what is now an amazing renaissance of conservatism that is the soul of our nation. Chris Simcox

A 500 mile circuit from Phoenix to Kingman, Lake Havasu and back through the long straight roads into Wickenberg strengthened my resolve as a conservative candidate. I never stray from the marker I set on my priciples that have been learned, and earned as I approach my 49th birthday this month. This is the month that has validated my campaign. I am a Christian, Constitutional, conservative family oriented man. I understand the job I am applying for as a public servant and I will never waiver from my civic duty and constitutional oath on as I have done since I took up post on our southern border after the attacks of 9-11-01.

To Thine own self be true, and true to my mission to lead a citizen reform movement in the most socially divisive of issues, we laid down a marker at our borders, stood in defense of our sovereignty and demanded respect for our citizenship and rule of law - I have never wavered and never will. The people of Arizona are responding. I would not be wasting your time or mine if I was not absolutely committed to winning this Senate seat for the people of Arizona. As a federalist senator I'll stand strong on a no-nonsense Constitutional approach to protecting our rights as free people. I will defend our states' ability to allow people to work and live free of federal regulation. And I will protect America's freedom from Internal treaties that cede our sovereignty or are ability to defend our nation.

Thank you to the Kingmen Republican Women's Club, The London Bridge Women's Republican Club and the Lake Havasu Men's Republican Club

The following article by Lee Cary sums it up perfectly - please support my campaign tomorrow with a $25-$50 contribution to send a message to the establishment that we the people are ready to get the job done the RIGHT way. Remember the 5th of November! Chris Simcox www.simcoxforsenate.com

simcox is not a bad guy-—he just can’t win this race—he’s got too much baggage and the media and mccain will kill him with it...

jim deakin is running against mccain also...he’s got a good platform, he’s military and is a solid conservative...i think our best bet is with him...

rumor has it that jd hayworth may throw his hat in the ring but he’s got a lot of debt from defending himself against frivilous lawsuits...i think i heard he may wait as late as january to announce whether he’s running or not...

What are your views on all of the other official GOP Primary candidates in your U.S. Senate race, and what are your views on J.D. Hayworth, who might also decide to run for this seat?

Welcome Simcox--

But I'd like to ask as favor of you, and/or Hayworth, or whoever joins you in the primary battle against McCain.

We really, really, want McCain gone. Please unite with other challengers if need be, rather than provide McCain with the GOP nom because his opposition is so diluted.

Your keyboard has some sort of repeating glitch in it.

Those are Republican presidential nominees and it looks accurate to me. Perhaps the repetition isn't a problem with the keyboard but a problem with the party?

Oh my. DOA. Sorry, Mr. Simcox. You are never going to overcome the statements in that video and they will be used against you.

If you can get Sheriff Joe’s approval.. then you can get the conservatives approval in AZ any day.. sadly, I haven’t been back in the states in the last 12 years,,, and am not from AZ, but Tx...

I hope all you say is true, and if so, good luck :)

Conservatism is the soul of our nation
I agree that what is called "conservatism" is the core of American identity. But although I may be accused of nitpicking, I think that language is crucial and that "conservatism" - like "liberalsim" and "progressive" - is actually, in America, a Newspeak rather than an English term.

Granted that American "conservatives" do have something they want to conserve - the Constitution, our language, our traditions - but the Constitution and our traditions are liberal and progressive. Not "liberal" in the American Newspeak language of the socialist, but actually liberal, as the term referred to advocacy of freedom everywhere before 1920, and continued to do so outside the US long afterward. Not "progressive" in the American Newspeak language of the socialist, but actually progressive, in the sense of advocating progress of, by, and for the people rather than the government.

Essentially my point is that our opponents have controlled the labels, and that has marginalized us. Before the socialists distorted the language, moderation was a classical virtue and liberalism and progressivism were distinctly American virtues. And conservatism was actually a vice in America - which you can readily confirm by considering how eager an American PR man is to splash the word "NEW!" on whatever product he's selling.

I wouldn’t run against McCain, but that doesn’t mean I’d support you. I’ll never trust a politician who says he’s/she’s the only candidate in the race. If that’s true, you’ll go plenty far without my vote.

Others may be looking to run (and it’s not too late for somebody who already has positive name recognition), but, as much as I despise the man, it seems unlikely to me anybody will beat him in the Primary, and he has enough Dem support (because he believes in the same things they do) that heck will freeze over before he loses a General Election.

So he has. Sorry, Jim my friend, but I didn’t think you’d go for this.

And I appreciate the invtation to leavea FR, but no thanks. You go ahead and be Chris Simcox’s fundraiser, I’ll post on different threads, but I am disappointed Jim would wh**e out the place like this for Chris Simcox.

My apologies if you took my statement as an invitation to leave.

That was not what I meant. My position was simply that if you wish to post comments in opposition to something to which Jim has granted his blessing, another forum would be a more appropriate place to do so.

I still look foreward to your comments in other areas.

As will I look forward your's. I'm just going to stay away from these particular threads, because I'll only be a disruptor of something Jim obviously wants to do.

"No, The foolish part was giving the $100,000 in the first place."

I have no doubt that that opinion, and that alone, was the basis of his ill-advised suit.

“Hildy, he posted this article, posted two replies and disappeared. No one was rude to him, but if he wants support from Freepers he does need to answer some questions, especially about the disappearing money related to the Minutemen Project.”

Good question! JD Hayworth and others may be the better answer to defeat McCain.

There are many polished politicians owned by the GOP that could replace McCain, and would at least be able to pass your judgment as worthy for the job - and we would be no better off. It’s humorous and perplexing at the same time to see so many who don’t see that the system is the problem. The 2 major parties are no better than unions, who raise millions to employ thousands who work for the union. Only the product the so called conservative produces is only a different flavor of kool-aid. No one in the party establishment would challenge McCain that would be political suicide as the system stands now.
I have always thought out of the box in order to battle the Leviathan you need to be quick on your feet.
The purpose is to bring the establishment to their senses or their knees and retake the congress and lay down a marker on the Constitution.
