"They couldn't care less about the party. You've got to harness that. You may not like it but you've got to harness it. It's a challenge."

Figures that the RINOs want to "harness" the Tea Parties to their own ends.

“...could portend struggles next year for GOP leaders.

Channeling the Tea Party-inspired energy is a particular headache for Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions, whose costly effort to keep the New York seat was a casualty of the civil war.”

Paging Rush Limbaugh. Score another one for you on the MSM slant.

Aww...how cute! The lil' RINOs want to "harness" us...like pack animals!

Tom Davis and the rest of the RINOs here in Northern Virginia can go get bent for all I care!

I know this is obvious, but it appears as though rinos don’t want competition, and expect us fools in the base to continue funding their failed efforts.

How effective were the Congressmen that told their Constituents to Shut-Up during the Townhalls?

The GOP has been doing that to Conservatives for a long time now.

Don’t expect the GOP to “Harness” the Conservatives.

The GOP could start out by demonstrating a commitment to Conservative Principles and Conservative Candidates and over time Conservatives might Trust the GOP again.

Harnassing won’t happen.

What could happen is an alliance to defeat the evil that is protected, ignored and surrendered to by the Democrats.

Don’t nominate frauds like Dede or Arlen, and you will get support.

"But their lone disappointment – the loss of a New York congressional seat in a crossfire between moderates and conservatives – could portend struggles next year for GOP leaders"

In the first place, their "Republican" candidate was a RINO, any doubt of that was expelled when she threw her support over to the democrat when she dropped out.

I believe that she got into an obama-style "snit" about the Conservative Party candidate getting endorsements and rising support, and knowing she couldn't win, she dropped out.

The funny part is, she still go 5% of the vote.

Now either there are a lot of "information starved" voters who didn't know she had dropped out, OR, she has a mighty large cache of family and friends.

But I believe the ones who did vote for you thought they were were voting "anti" democrat...that means if you add her 5% to Hoffman's 45%, the Conservatism wins with 50% of the vote to the democrats 49%.

It's a stretch, but it's like one of those goofy tests, you know, "Which one of these things is more like the other?".

Sure, the GOP candidate was a RINO, but was more moderate than the democrat...so the "moderate-conservative" vote won.

Stick that up your facelift, Nazi Pelosi.

It will only be a struggle if the Party ‘leaders’ start dissing the conservatives again. They’ll find themselves with even LESS money and many fewer warm bodies to do the GOTV efforts. It sure ain’t the RINOS that do either of those essential things!

It’s because of crap like this that we haven’t gotten around to changing our registrations back to R from D, after changing it to vote against Obama in the primaries. By the time SD voted June 3, McCain was done deal anyway.

Now, doesn’t much matter which party’s begging letters get tossed.

They couldn't care less about the party. You've got to harness that. You may not like it but you've got to harness it. It's a challenge.

Tom, Tom, Tom... do you mind if a call you D-Bag? It's only a "challenge" if you do not in fact believe the same things that the base of the Party believes. If you do believe in what we believe in, there's no challenge. If you don't, BIG CHALLENGE.

But, D-Bag, if you don't believe what the base of the Party believes in, then, who is it that really "doesn't care about the Party?" The base -- that's been loyally funding, volunteering, and taking your heat for years, or the cynical manipulators who don't really believe in anything except getting another buck from a fund raising letter? Who is it that really doesn't care "about the Party?" D-Bag? D-Bag? You still there? Or have you gone over to the Dems like Chafee, Jeffords, Specter, Scozzofazza ... you know, all those moderates who "care so much about the Party?"

No. WE have to harness THEM (or find new horses).

They still don’t get it.
