The experiment goes something like this:
A volunteer subject sits at a desk in a room, thinking he's there to answer some survey questions, but in reality, this is an experiment on human behavior and covert influence. A researcher sits on the other side of the desk, facing the subject. There is a glass jar on the desk, filled with cookies.
The researcher casually asks the subject, "Would you like a cookie?" And some percentage of subjects say yes, but it's a small number, perhaps something like 15% - 20% (I don't remember the exact numbers, but that's not important to the bigger point here). This same scenario unfolds across several hundred subjects in order to get a baseline measurement on how many people will take a cookie when one is offered to them.
To continue the experiment, the researchers then remove most of the cookies from the cookie jar and bring in another few hundred subjects to see how many of them will take a cookie when the visible supply of cookies is smaller. Some percentage of students take a cookie, but it's still not substantially different from the first part of this experiment when the cookie jar was full. So even though a larger number of people take a cookie when the available supply is smaller, it's still not a huge number.
The real magic happens when the experiment is repeated a third time, and during the experiment, before the subject is asked for a cookie, another unidentified person walks into the room and takes a cookie themselves! This is done in full view of the study subject who now sees a dwindling supply of cookies in the cookie jar. Subsequently, when now asked if they want a cookie, virtually everyone takes a cookie!

Today, I received my H1N1 shot (not mist) due to her being “immune compromised”. Then they REFUSED to give HER a shot because the DoD has stated only special units/personnel get the vaccination first.

I don’t care who takes the vaccine or how limited the supply is, etc. I will not ever take it. EVER!
If it is fabricated this will be Barrys’ shining moment. He’ll interrupt prime time TV. Announce he has declared that production must increase. When all is said and done he will take credit that he saved you.

I read on the H1N1 thread that the bulk packaging needs a preservative (like the Thirmisoral (sp?) with Mercury) while the vials don’t. Lots of debate I know with regards to mercury and autisim, but it does enter into the risk versus benefits equation.
If for some reason H1N1 becomes a huge killer, they will look back and see that they got the equation wrong.
I thought there was something back in Bill Clinton’s day that he did that affected the vacine makers and making them more limited - and moving many of the overseas, etc.

I’ve read that those that need the flu shot (seasonal or otherwise) don’t need it, as they are prone to being healthier and taking care of themselves better.
Those that DO need the shot, don’t have strong enough natural immunity and can’t get it because it’ll make them sicker.
So it’s kind of a catch 22 either way...and generally, the vaccine isn’t going to help those that need it and does nothing for those that don’t (except maybe introduce things the body doesn’t need that will eventually weaken your natural immune system).
And BTW, NOTHING makes you immune to the flu, except getting it naturally.
Change the cookie jar to a bottle of rat poison to make the analogy more fitting.

I don't know what distressed minority you belong, but as a White Heterosexual Male Taxpayer, I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting one if I wanted one. ...which I don't.
