At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

The timeline was that the shootings started at 1:30 pm...
One thread was posted at 3:16 on FR stating that 7 people were killed and 12 injured.(I think one was posted shortly after 2 pm, but I can’t find it now)....
All reports on cable TV news said the president was notified immediately once the shootings started...
He gave his remarks after 5 pm. He must known about these shootings 3 hours prior to his speech.
Oh was it that late? I knew there were multiple hours between the murders and his response. Sheesh
That's what nearly made me puke watching him at Dover playing soldier. He could have cared less who was in the casket just so long as he got his photo op.
The president is THE Commander in Chief of the US military. That responsibility means he must show leadership - particularly in an instance such as this.
Of course Hasan is the villain- but would you have known that from listening to the president yesterday?
The longer we tolerate mushy thinking in our culture- the longer we can expect cowardly leadership.
The FACT is the president- as you put it- mishandled the situation. I don’t “perceive” it- I know it.
True. But most freepers don't know the difference between "troop" and "a trooper" and "troops" and "troopers."
No normal person could carry on in such a breezy way, knowing his NEXT topic was a horrible massacre. And then to focus on HIS duties and how solemn they are...he's certifiably something, and it isn't normal.
For such a brilliant, sophisticated, erudite, well-spoken individual, Obama BLEW IT. This was a slam-dunk for him: Get to the podium, give a quick “thank you”, then IMMEDIATELY address the Ft. Hood shooting. Just incredible. I can’t tell if he’s genuinely that cold or if he’s just an idiot. I can’t even imagine Jimmuh Carter being that clueless.

Unless you are lost on your way over to DU, everyone here understands that nobama was elected by fraudlent votes and probably is not legally the President. Nobama’s encouragement of haji ROP is responsible for his brother’s jihad at Ft. Hood. Who doubts the Kenyan yelled out allah akbar when he heard the news.

I am one to give a person the benefit of the doubt. I think we all understand that a president usually won’t give his remarks until he receives all the details, so I’m not condemning him for speaking after 5. It’s what he said and what he didn’t say. No compassion whatsoever.
Rush should point out that if liberals were to be consistent, they would blame Obamah for the deadly rampage at Ft. Hood.
Liberals should be proclaiming if only Obamah has brought the troops home like he campainged on, the soldier would not have been redeployed and this incident never would have happened.

I hope some of the victims’ families speak out to the press about this behavior, though they will probably be encouraged not to do so. There are many reasons this POS should not be in office; this just happens to be the latest, and yet another slap in the face to the military.

At least Bill Hemmer called Hasan a “KILLER” today.
This was my thought. Sadly, this is a situation most democrats use to their political advantage. He had an opportunity to demonstrate genuine compassion and outrage. Instead, he stuck to the teleprompter and "threw in" a monotone group of words to acknowledge he knew about it and was sorry.

Or you could take this another way with his bad “advisors” comment that they know ZERO doesn’t have a clue and is told what to do. His three advisors, Axelrod, Emanual, and Jarrett all come out of the Chicago thug school.
When I was in Chicago this summer, you would have never known he came from there except huge pictures of ZERO in the windows of Ebony. His picture wasn’t even in the McDonald’s downtown where they honor blacks for their achievements — Martin Luther King, Michael Jordon, Ophrah Winfrey and a host of other pictures but no ZERO.
The guy that would get my car would say you know the one from Red State Oklahoma.
If you stop to think what did the community organizer do for people of Chicago except get on charity foundations and distribute money with no results to friends of Ayers. He was an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law whose students complained all he did was talk sports and joke around. When Tom Ayers decided he needed to run for State Senate to start his rise, they threw the current black State Senator, a woman, under the bus. Everytime he ran Ayers and company took out the opponent to give him a weaker one.
He funneled money to rid the southside apartments of asbestos — never was done but those areas were going to be torn down for the Olympics and the owners given big bucks to sell. Annenberg project for schools was a total joke as Chicago Public schools are some of the worst who have probably had the most money thrown at them. His wife was in charge of patient dumping at the University of Chicago medical facility where she made sure beds were available for the upper class while the lower class of South Chicago had to travel to other emergency rooms much farther away.
Until recently I didn’t know that Tom Ayers was a guru of IL politics. Father of Bill Ayers, Obama’s benefactor.
Chicago papers and broadcast media have always known what the empty suit was all about but now it is actually coming out in public.
That’s my take on his ‘advisors’ as they know he is an empty suit with no core values. They also know he is very arrogant the way he loved to shut down a whole area of Chicago after he was elected and in transition at a local hotel. Anything to make citizens go out of the way he loves. Demanded that his house in Chicago be guarded by Chicago police but now they have said no more until we are paid. He is never in residence as he jets around the world.
Chicago knows full well who we have sitting in the White House along with his arrogant wife.
