Abortion foes voting "yes" on health care bill were played

H.R. 3962, America's Healthy Future Act, passed the House yesterday evening 215 to 220 after several hours of debate. Amid floor speeches, pro-life congressmen were also successful in writing in the pro-life oriented Stupak-Pitts amendment. Pro-life groups were excited over the passage of the amendment and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) urged the passage of the amendment.

However, during questioning from the press prior the passage of the Stupak-Pitts amendment, the Washington Times asked Rep.Henry Waxman (D- Calif.) if the amendment could be changed later on after the eventual passage of H.R. 3962 last night.:

Anyone that believes that negotiating with people that actively promote the killing of another human being is honorable should be ashamed.
Just as with the Islamofascists it is perfectly acceptble to LIE to NON-believers.

Stupak, et al., are charlatans. Either that or brain-dead. There is not one chance in hell that, should this piece of excrement pass in the Senate, the Stupak amendment will NOT be removed, first thing, from the conference reported bill.

Stupak wanted a fig leaf, and got it. Or else he's got the intelligence of an amoeba (no offense to amoebae, of course).

Of interest, the GOP could have killed the health care bill by voting against the amendment and it would not have carried.

Mr. Boehner responded, “it is quite clear this could be a shell game underway. . . . I have my doubts this language if it passes has any chance of being in the final version of the bill.”

GNS! Ya think????

Abso-freaking-lutely.

I knew it last night when I first heard of it.

WE ARE SUCH SUCKERS.

This is NOT about abortion. That’s a ruse. A distraction.

This is about the government TAKEOVER of society. All of it. They can get around silly abortion restriction clauses in their “health bill” anytime they want. And you know it and I know it. Just take it before any lib court. Just wait for ObamaFacist to issue an EXECUTIVE ORDER.

We were played because fundamentally, as a group, WE ARE STUPID.

This was the most stupid thing. How is this amendment anything to celebrate about? I mean does anyone in the pro-life community believe that Nancy Pelosi and liberal Democrats in general have any qualms about finding ways around this? This was stupid. It offered cover to a bill that will take all of our rights to disagree on the health care issue. The Senate thankfully will provide the battlefield on which to take down this bill. Anyone who was celebrating this as a pro-life victory are fools. The only thing that I found interesting is that there were that many pro-life Democrats. That has to drive the far left crazy.

They knew exactly what they were doing.

There are plenty of Christian Socialists. Europe is full of them and so is the Democratic Party.

Heck, by some measures, Bush was a Christian Socialist.

"Of interest, the GOP could have killed the health care bill by voting against the amendment and it would not have carried."

Of interest is why did they introduce it in the first place if the bill would have gone down in flames without it? Fig leaf is right.

Of course. No surprises here. At least not for those who understood the nature of this beast. Everyone who supported this betrayal of the American people got "played." All were deals made with the Devil.

Yes. That's right. So cut off your nose to spite your face. Good thinkin' there. Federally-funded abortions are now inevitable. Now millions of the unborn will be torn limb from limb and YOU are going to pay for it. Brilliant!! No wonder the dems think we're all a bunch of uneducated rednecks. Apparently most of you are. I'm changing my political affiliation to Independent. Republicans are too moderate and slow-in-the-head to do for this country what needs to be done.

The Washington Times gets it, but only in part. The perfidy is even worse than they seem to understand.

Republicans, unfortunately, care more for the appearance of being pro-life than they do for the substance of being pro-life.

And it allowed Pelosi and Obama to take a huge stride towards the finishing off of American liberty.

The winnowing season continues apace...

They were not “played”, they chose selective ignorance... by socializing the healthcare system, the government bureaucracy and its power hungry liberal overseers will determine all aspects of the medical industry.

Abortion is a “medical procedure”, so by default it will ultimately be covered by the government healthcare system; furthermore, using the perverted “logic” of leftists, the “procedure may in fact be considered a “preferred procedure” in the future, given that it will “reduce” the overall costs of an additional patient.

If they had simply done right, God would have taken care of the rest. Instead, they became the vehicle for the Left to destroy us.

If only they would pay attention to the wise words of the father of our country:

"Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God." -- George Washington

RE: Of course they were “played.”

Like a violin. The Stupak-Pitt amendment was added to get votes for passage but will be taken out later. The democrats are soooo underhanded and criminally dishonest. The “blue dog” democrats were had and we will pay the price.

What about the big companies..too big to fail, who will no longer have to dole out those huge benefits that were skyrocketing to their employees? Just the Dems? Not on your life.
