(ON THE ROAD FROM LAFAYETTE, LA) -- The leadership of the Tea Party Express (website: http://www.TeaPartyExpress.org) tonight denounced the vote by the House of Representatives (220-215) to pass a healthcare bill that includes a government-run component.
"Shame on them! Congress chose once again to defy the will of the people who have spoken out at tea parties and town halls against this big government plan, because the politicians cared more about growing the size, power and control of government than what the people wanted," said Mark Williams, Co-Chair of the Tea Party Express.
"The politicians forget that the Constitution begins with the words, 'We The People,' not 'We the Government.' The people have made it clear they did not want this quasi-socialistic plan, and since they haven't gotten the message then in 2010 we're going to be handing out pink slips to these politicians. Enjoy your final days in office, and start searching the want-ads for a new job, because we're going to vote you out of office," said Deborah Johns, Co-Chair of the Tea Party Express.
The Tea Party Express is currently conducting a national cross-country tour holding tea party rallies in 40-cities across the country to defeat the efforts to impose a government-run healthcare plan and other related issues.
On Sunday the Tea Party Express will hold rallies in Baton Rouge, LA and Jackson, MS, and will continue through the southeast. On Tuesday, November 10th the Tea Party Express will hold a giant rally in Beaufort, SC headlined by Congressman Joe Wilson.
Last night Congress betrayed us. Not only did the House of Representatives ignore our calls, emails, tea parties and town halls, but they did so in the process of pushing through the Pelosi-Obama socialistic, Big-Government healthcare fraud. And friends, this is why we are on the road right now with the "Tea Party Express: Countdown to Judgment Day." Our whole point has been to send the message that if Congress is going to defy "We the People" and defy the constitutional principles of what our government should do - and what it should NOT do - then "We the People" are going to vote these politicians out of office and take our country back. Someone gave us some bookmarks with the statement "Our Founding Fathers would have done something by now."
Unfortunately we can't "drag" them out of office, but the millions of people that won't let the leftists boil them slowly like frogs will get them out IMO.

One issue individuals aren't effective usually.
If you want to only concentrate on defunding the Fed (a good idea) start a political PAC, raise some money, and do something effective. Set up a "Defund The Fed" tour.
The last Tea Party Exress helped bring 1.5 million peopld to DC to let our government know we ain't gonna take it anymore.
Of course Bill O'Reilly and the MSM said about 75,000 were there.

The tea parties have failed. We are still stuck with the Communist agenda. No pint in even having a team party now. Cap and Tx and 0bama care are law. America is a hoplessly left country. The Conservative movement is defeated and dead.
Congrats to the leftist majority in this country. You wanted the hip and cool black President, you got him. You wanted cap and tax, you got it. You wanted government run business, you got it. You wanted 0bamacare, you got it.
Me, I am about to check out. I’d rather die than live under tyrany and Communist rule. Hopefully where ever I end up I get to watch all you the voted for this President and this congress suffer at their hands for a very long time.

Voting them out after the fact won’t change the course. It might delay some of the more egregious aspects of this debacle, but it won’t alter the destination. I hope the Senate will wake up, but I doubt it.
It’s sad really. This nation has long forgotten the role of government as defined by the founding fathers and outlined in the federalist papers, which was the key to our success. We have become a bunch of wimpy, self-entitled whiners, eager to parrot the pseudo-compassionate, bleeding heart pablum that’s been force-fed since birth. The upcoming generation is illiterate and blind to the notions of integrity and self-reliance. I never, ever thought I would see this day 30 years ago. This false pride is going to be washed into the sewer with the rest of this once great nation if people don’t wake up and stand up for the ideals which once raised this country above all others.

We’ve tried fighting. We written our congress people. We’ve gone to tea parties. We’ve mached on Washington. They still passed everything we opposed. They either don’t care or their internal polling shows a majority of America wants these laws. Let’s face it, 0bama is still highly popular with a majority of Americans. He still enjoys approval ratings well above 50% in most polls and personal favorable ratins near 70%. I’ve just come to believe that America has just taken a hard shift left, that most people want all these things. They want to be cared for by their government. Maybe they don’t realize what it means to be wards of the state, but they are about to find out how miserable it is. By the time they do find out, it’s to late. The State controls everything. There is no going back.
If I’m wrong, then offer me some evidence that I am wrong. Give me some hope we can win. We said we’d stop the Bush/Paulson bailout. It didn’t happen. We said we’d stop the 0bama stimulus, it didn’t happen. We’d said we’d stop Cap and Tax. It didn’t happen. We’d said we’d stop 0bama/Pelosi Care. It didn’t happen. We have absolutely nothing to show for our efforts.
I’m tired. I’m beat. I’m run down. I’m tired of fighting the good fight when there is no hope of victory.
Sorry. Call me defeatist. Call me anti-American. Call me whatever you like. I’m done with this crap. I hate these people in charge, I hate everyone that voted for them and I hate everyone that supports them. Constitutionally we can remove them. It clearly states that what they are doing can be stopped by changing the government.
Revolution is happening right now, and in their mistaken ego driven actions they will eventually cross the final line and be dealt with when they get in our faces with their final surge of oppression.
I've seen thousands (ok millions) of people that are ready to not sit on the sidelines anymore.
We are a nation of law. This may become an issue of bullets but that time is not yet.
Yeah, we are a nation of laws, but not a nation of sheep. We have a right AND responsibilily to stand up for our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. To refuse to do is is cowardice, plain and simple.

I’ve been reading here for years, but finally joined. As I am sure you are aware, talk is cheap, but a useful tool. Believe me, I am greatly heartened by those I see posting here, and taking it to the streets. What is disheartening is to know that right now if we acted together this could be stopped immediately, but that fear stands in the way. Sadly, I count myself among those who are fearful as well. I feel ambivalent regarding my obligations to my children. I feel obligated to work within the current system, as it stands to protect them.
So, a slower course must be taken. That said, there is strength in numbers, and more are awakening and joining the fight each day. Not to mention emboldening those who already awakened. With each cataclysmic event, the pace is quickening, but on both sides. It is difficult to remove deeply embedded notions of what is portrayed as reality, despite documentation which is readily available showing that things are not as they appear. In the search for truth, I like to stick to the facts and reserve formulating any opinions which might cause me to become myopic and miss the overall truth.
I don’t like what I see.
I thank God for the Christmas present of a shortwave radio when I was 14. It opened me to critically think about the world around me beyond its portrayal in the media.
Well my thinking is that people of wealth that do not need insurance and there are many, shouldn’t be shaken down by the gov’t to purshcase something they have the means to take care of themselves. And to tell families that they have to have a certain amount of coverage also smells to me. In court they could argue that insurance cures nothing and offers no guaranty of life.

I will be attending and adding my support to all public protests. I currently have the ability and believe in the importance of making a show. The way I see it, we have two visible enemies. One are the politicians who are selling this country down the road. The other is the media who disseminate the lies.
But there are also two invisible enemies. One is the ignorance caused by the lies. Those who oppose us aren’t our enemies, it is the lies which motivate their actions. Their intentions aren’t evil, the lies corrupt.
The other enemy is unknown to me, and that is those who are controlling and manipulating events to further their agenda.
I believe this site is one of many which are important in combating the ignorance. I hope Glenn Beck is having a genuine epiphany. He is useful, but I still don’t trust him and am fearful he’ll gather many only to lead them down the wrong path when he is called upon to pay. A judas goat.
These are certainly interesting times.

I think the tea parties are good. I just don’t know that they are really stopping this freight train of Communism in DC. I really think many moderate Dems don’t really realize what is happening, they just want to say they won. Sadly, they don’t see that they are losing, not winning.

Tax revolt. It’s illegal too. I think many are silently doing it already, but to organize one will get you a visit from the Feds. Of course if millions did it at once, the government would be powerless to do anything about it and it would bring them to their knees in a month.

The Tea Parties, and the Tea Party Express II are only a part of the equation.

This is far from over. This bill passed the House by a 2 member margin. That is not a good sign in the Senate. A good chunk of the 'blue dogs' were able to so their no vote to give them cover next year. That tells you how unpopular this is. Our activism is reflected in the VA and NJ votes last week, and also in the NY-23 where 46% voted for a 3rd party conservative candidate.
Fact is, the Democrat socialists were given a very large majority and can pretty much do what they want right now, and the hard left has been waiting for many decades to push through socialized health care. They may damn well push it across the finish line despite the majority of the American people. Do not think this is widely wanted. They are using the power they have to push it through, and with the narrowest of margins. Neither Cap and Tax nor ObamaCare are law yet. Both have to get through a Senate, and the Senate is designed to slow crap like this down. We'll see. I would not bet against Obamacare passing, but I am not ready to predict it. I know the left is going to push like hell and bend all the rules to get it, so we have to work very hard to prevent it. It is time to double our efforts and kill the bill.

My fear is that you’re correct. Sorry to say but I think the majority of the people do want cradle to grave nannyism. I guess most of the younger generation have been weaned on it anyway so it’s no big deal for them. It’s the older folks who remember real freedom. I’m not sure what will happen next probably just more socialism until we resemble the EU.
