As a white, 65++ y/o female, I can concur with some of what Steele is saying.
I am definately afraid of Michael Steele. VERY AFRAID.
Not as an adult black man.
As a person in charge of millions of dollars of donations which came from American Republicans paychecks , taken from many who are in danger of not having a job next week, or have already lost their jobs.
Steele took those donations, with apparently no thoughts about how dearly the money was made by these Republicans, and he squandered around $900,000 on a RINO POS in upstate New York Dist 23.
He blithely handed out hard-earned dollars, which were given in good faith, for a candidate which didn’t deserve to even file the papers to run for any office, IMO.
Telling me and other Republicans after the election that he ‘didn’t give the money to support Scuzzofava”, but to rebut the Democrat message doesn’ cut it with me.
Steele wasted $900,000. PERIOD.
Blindly following the ‘recommendations of 13 local county operatives” isn’t any excuse, either. Perhaps all those officers should be reviewed and removed!!
With the unemployment in the country, each dollar is precious.
Apparently Steele does NOT realize that, and he is being very cavalier about spending that money on a turncoat.
I don’t trust Steele.

I am close to changing my Republican registration for voting. It has been in place for almost 50 years...and I am disgusted. If the Conservative Party that supported Doug Hoffman in New York Dist 23 is going nationwide- I am interested. If Doug Hoffman can run for any other national position, I am interested in supporting him.
Not only is money being wasted on ‘candidates’ who are not vetted properly, Steele isn’t even in the least apologetic about the loss of those dollars on a turncoat.
SHAME ON STEELE. He is an embarrassment to the Republican Party and all those who are such registered voters.
His endorsement of any candidate will be suspect for me for a very long time.
I am not interested in the Republican Party attracting voters with Fried Chicken and potatoe salad.
I want platform planks for the party that really mean something, and they have to get CONSERVATIVE again.

Please don't misunderstand this, but it should read: Constitutional conservative Republicans are ashamed of him. COLOR has NOTHING to do with it.
I think this is sad, and I’ve noticed it too. I like Michael Steele a lot, and he’s done a good job, by and large.
I’m afraid to say that I think that some of the RNC Leadership (not Steele) is really out of touch with their members. Too many of them are like our Natl. Committeewoman and our District chair who seem to think that their job is to keep people out of any leadership position.
They don’t listen, and they don’t explain. They just give orders. Then, when things don’t work, they blame everyone else.
Don’t think they’re “scared.”
