Warden Pelosi

Health Care Reform: Failure to buy health insurance in the just-passed health care bill could get you five years in jail with a $250,000 fine. How can violating a law that's unconstitutional be a felony?

The passage last Saturday night of the House health care measure by a fragile 220-215 margin may well prove to be a Pyrrhic victory. In polls, townhall meetings and tea parties, Americans have shown they don't want a "reform" that costs a staggering $1.2 trillion yet fails to meet the left's desire of insuring all the uninsured.

And they certainly don't want a bill that threatens them with incarceration if they don't comply.

This monstrosity would raise insurance premiums and taxes to prohibitive levels and add unconscionably to the national debt.

It will force physicians to leave the medical profession in droves, exacerbating an already perilous doctor shortage. This and so-called cost controls will lead to rationing.

The mechanisms for deciding who gets what, if any, care — and even what care will be available — are already in place. Some, like a cost-effectiveness board, slipped into the failed stimulus bill.

Boy, I'm sure glad they put in the Stupak amendment that bans federal funding against abortion in the bill that didn't allow for abortions in the first place. /s

Fur Shur I'll be in on the kidnapping of some of those doctors "leaving the profession". They'll be imprisoned (somewhere nice) and will serve a bunch of geezers night and day.

At the same time any politician thinks she can send the law out to bust us for not paying premiums for service that's unobtainable is in some serious trouble.

Like to note the $250,000 fine and 20 years jail will occur for missing only a single monthly premium.

The Democrats who voted for this POS are certifiably insane, and the people who voted for them should visit a shrink ~ maybe Dr. Hasan.

“...and the people who voted for them should visit a shrink ~ maybe Dr. Hasan.”

Ouch. That’s gonna leave a mark, LOL! Not that I disagree...

We are in a world of hurt if this makes it past the Senate. It’s not looking good, but then, the LefTards are claiming VICTORY and LANDSLIDE status when it passed the House by 5 freakin’ votes!

It’s going to be the American People screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ at the polls come 2010.

Has anyone heard of any plans by Constitutional attorneys to contest this bill if it passes the Senate?

When FDR got Congress to pass some laws that were questionable, the Supreme Court struck them down.

This “healthcare bill” certainly looks very unconstitutional.

Don't know if they'll be screaming, but they will be voting - especially the nation's senior citizens who they just blatantly put out to pasture.

If regular joes get fined $1500 and will not or cannot pay for Pelosicare, prisons all over the nation will be so overcrowded, it will be unreal. Bottom line, those in prison customarily get free medical treatment. Now about those alleged "detainment camps.....(once said to be for illegal aliens);" if they exist, will they be used to incarcerate those who refuse to play ball with Pelosi, et al?

The only politician to openly say it is unconstitutional was Orin Hatch. If others have too, I missed it. How can a person be forced to buy a govt product they don’t want.

Not to worry!

Once ObamaCare passes the Senate (of course it will pass, silly) then the Supreme Court will step in and declare the legislation UNCONSTITUTIONAL before it even goes for a signature! Problem solved!

Oh wait ... nobody will have standing, so nobody can file suit to challenge the law. (Perish the thought that the Sleeping Nine would just sit around a table and vote up or down on the constitutionality.) And until a lawsuit is filed, denied and appealed, the Court won’t do a damn thing.

Prompt action? Save the nation? Uphold the Constitution? HA!

The Supremes don’t rule on constitutionality. They only rule on what other judges have written.

So yeah ... I guess we are all screwed. Deeply screwed. Damn.

Will they go in and take the payments from the bank acct? Eliminate funds to be used for food and bills? They can wreck havoc this way.

This socialized medicine bill is just the kind of tyranny jury nullification was intended to fight. No one who values freedom should vote to convict patriots who refuse to buy the mandated insurance.
