O's terrible call: Will terrorists walk free?
NY Post ^ | November 14, 2009 | PETER KING

Posted on 11/14/2009 2:33:56 AM PST by Scanian

Like many New Yorkers and members of the families of the nearly 3,000 innocent Americans murdered on that horrific Tuesday morning eight years ago, I'm outraged and insulted by President Obama's decision to transfer Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the admitted mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, to New York City for trial in civilian federal court.

The decision will go down in history as one of the worst made by any US president. While it may be hailed by Europeans, the ACLU and the far-left-wing of the Democratic Party, the president's action actually threatens American lives and weakens US national security.

I'm European and I don't take any delight in Obama’s stupid and dangerous decision. But I take the articles point in general.

The Democrats for years tend to treat terrorists as criminals to be tracked down and brought to justice, as Bill Clinton would say shaking his fist with a tear in his eye. Obama is just carrying out that principle, because, thanks to Bush, we have the alleged criminals in hand. Such moves are merely a step toward One World Government.

Of course, it is insane, lacks common sense, and reflects a warped and twisted view of the world. Look to start paying taxes to the United Nations and reparations. That is the "change" most people of this country voted for.

The Pakistani police that captured him most likely did not conform to American standards of reasonable cause, protection of rights, treatment guidelines, etc. The only realistic explanation for him to be tried after the fact under US laws is to make a mockery of former and present intelligence employees and procedures. A kangaroo court running on high octane BDS.

If these guys end up in front of the wrong judge and a bunch of NYC libs are picked for the jury, I fear that all bets will be off and absolutely anything could happen with this absurd and dangerous mess that Hussein has created.

With his repeated confessions and boasting I couldn't see a scenario where he walks. The goal here seems to be a show trial. Accusations against the evil Americans from someone with nothing to lose and every reason to lie being reported as fact worldwide. This is another step in the clear cut path of anti-Americanistic distractions put on by those in power. Everything obama touches turns to crap, this will give at least a few months of distraction from the economy, his suicidal Afghanistan non-policy, complete government takeover attempts of every major industry, etc. I can't figure out why this vermin is still breathing.

Demonrats find Muslim terrorists useful, because not only do they hate America but are willing to kill and be killed for that hatred. Serves the Libtards purposes to a “T”. They hate America too, but are much more yellow (they call it “peace-loving”). That reminds me - they’re also hypocrites.

The case can be made that this is a shrewd legal and political strategy to insure that these guys walk while still being able to claim they brought them to trial.

The Gov’t will be unable to put on a major prosecution in open court and risk exposing the ways and means of its intelligence apparatus. Most of its most damaging evidence will never see the light of day. Perhaps more importantly, the defense is sure to turn this into a trial about water boarding and other interrogation techniques.

I LIKE the idea of trying these scumbags in New York. I lost a good friend on Flight 93 and I will try to attend part of these trials, I’m sure a lot of family members of victims will do likewise.

I think you are right.

Your comment reminds me of the Kissinger quote regarding the military: “They are stupid animals useful only in implementing foreign policy.”

I’m sure the Left views Al Qaeda about the same way: they are handy tools to be utilized for embarassing America and, above all, the Bush administration.

I can. He wasn't provided an attorney during questioning. He wasn't read his Miranda rights when he was captured. Much of the info obtained from him was done under "harsh" interrogation techniques. Any decent defense attorney will have a field day with motions to dismiss on this one. Not saying the Judge will dismiss the case, but there are certainly plenty of grounds to do so in criminal court. Obamalamadingdong and AG Holder are making it all possible.

I can't figure out why this vermin is still breathing.

There's always "hope" that he'll fall out of the airplane when they fly him from Cuba to NY.....

It's also possible that a judge could dismiss all criminal proceedings on the grounds of violation of right to speedy trial, based on the delay between capture and bringing the case to trial. One should not underestimate the ability of the judiciary to find reasons to turn bad guys loose.

Obama and Eric Holder are actively and openly working to destroy America from within. The dismissal of charges against the New Black Panthers for intimidating voters in Philadelphia. Reopening investigations of Bush officials. And now the latest outrage of according privileges to terrorists who are not even eligible for protection under the Geneva Convention.

This administration is all about pomp and rhetoric to maintain it’s semblance of standing. Full blown US bashing, innuendo, blame Bush, all that is virtually guaranteed. I don’t see him walking. That could be ‘the straw’ so to speak.

Yeah, just imagine a case where the cops didn’t read the perp his Miranda rights, then took him to the station and waterboarded him. Talk about a defense attorney’s dream case.

I know the muslims in NY will never vote to convict. Never.
You can bet their lawyers will get muslims on the jury.

The AG has set many terrorists free. This is just the next bunch. His intent is to expose torture, embarrass Bush and Cheny, and set the terrorists free by blaming Bush.

Holder is a scumbag, hell bent on destroying the USA.

SInce the puke confessed to the crime and is pleading guilty there will be NO JURY.

All the work will fall on the bacs of one knee-jerk, robot-like Leftwingtard New York district court judge.

She will wilt like a periwinkle on a scorching hot day and just turn them loose.

If you think this trial is going to feel like a stroke of justice against the terrorists, you are likely in for a rude awakening. Even if the verdict is correct, this trial will be a soapbox for KSM to rant against the United States and for his leftist defense attorneys to put the US intelligence agencies on trial. Obama didn’t choose this venue in order to satisfy patriotic Americans’ sense of justice. He did it to satisfy his leftwing base, who know this is an opportunity to drag America through the mud.

All inadmissible evidence in a liberal New York Jury with Muslims.

The intent is to set him free and embarrass Bush. To discourage and hamper our military. A new york jury will give holder what he wants.

I would not be surprised to see them demand that Cheny take the witness stand.

The American people are in the cross hairs of Islamic terrorists and the communists thugs enablers in DC.

12 more dead, 30 more injured last week. Next week, who knows? 100 ? 10,000? Obama and Holder couldn't give a shit.

The statement was made over 30 years ago for one thing and was really more a reflection of Kissinger’s Ivy League, snotty elitism than anything else.

In the meantime, the simple solution is “No More Prisoners”. Problem solved quickly wherever we find them. Justice on the spot for less than 50 cents ....red

And don’t think B.O. and crew wouldn’t LOVE to have such a scene aired on the evening news. Cheney—and maybe even Bush— would finally be grilled in public, which is exactly the revenge they would love to exact.

I like the idea ...........

Bad idea this case will turn into a circus and a referendum on the CIA , Waterboarding , The Bush Admin. and that awfull evil country , America . It will gin up the radicals and gain even more support for killing Americans at home . The city will be crawling with misfits and become a nightmare of insecurity . The judge and jurors along with their families will recieve death threats and will never again be able to carry on a normal life if these creeps are sentenced to death . THINK ABOUT THAT !!!

Its a back door move to get Cheny and everyone else on the witness stand.

Obama and Holder are back stabbing treasonous marxist thugs. This is going to backfire on these two America hating dirtbags.

I can picture Cheny in front of the court house ripping The Islamo Fascist Kenyan and his Nazi Henchman Holder a new Ass.

If the terrorists somehow get out of a Federal death penalty, they'd still face state trials in Virginia(for the Pentagon) and Pennsylvania(for Flight 93), both of which still have the death penalty.

I think the idiot libs in New York state got rid of theirs.

Remember when Holder burnt the Building with the kids inside in Texas, 1993? And pumped it full of bullets as it was burning? When he gassed the little kids to death?

No, it wasn't the soviet Union. It was Waco Texas.

I Remember Janet Reno laughing about the tanks and what her Nazi boy, Eric Holder, was doing.

Yes, Eric Holder has no qualms about killing Americans. None at all. As far as he is concerned, the more the merrier.

There is a distinct possibility one or more of these guys could be acquitted on some technicality. Then what? They would go back to the Middle East as heroes and begin plotting more attacks. Obama has simply not thought through the consequences of this happening and perhaps naively believes that an acquittal by the US justice system would make the jihadists love us.
