WASHINGTON (CNN) Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney delivered a scathing criticism of President Obama's Afghanistan strategy Friday night, accusing the president of delivering rhetoric and not action in the war-torn country.
Quoting from a speech Obama delivered in March, Romney agreed with the president "that 'we are in Afghanistan to confront a common enemy that threatens the United States, our friends and allies."' Romney continued on seconding the president: "I believe 'that to succeed, we and our friends and allies must reverse the Taliban's gains, and promote a more capable and accountable Afghan government.'"

Get bent, Myth!
... to the left.
...and into a thousand years of Socialist darkness!
Who let this guy out of the closet? HARUMPH!
Romney can call upon the deep military history of his family to assure us he’d be a better military leader.
See, this is the residual effect of being the “big tent” party. You get guys like Romney in the fold and you can’t really truly get rid of them.
(well, I tend to be pessimistic, as it seems no matter how many times Romney gets pwn3d, he just won’t go away).
I haven’t seen any sign of that. If Mitt said he likes ice cream, you guys would find something nefarious about it.
I like him. And, no, I’m not a RINO. Don’t know that he’s my pick. I still prefer Rudy.
But he’d be a heck of a lot better than what we got last time...or what we have in the White House now.
I know, the voters. Just like they protected us from Obama.
We're hosed if Romney comes anywhere near getting the GOP nomination for 2012.
Stingy Mitt the RINO.
Me, I'm on the verge of sending money to Marco Rubio and openly encouraging others to support his campaign against Charlie Crist in the upcoming Florida Republican primary for U.S. Senate. CONSERVATIVES NEED TO TAKE BACK THE REPUBLICAN PARTY -- the NY23 was the wake-up call.
This race is the next on the list, it seems to me. Do any FReepers know of any reason I shouldn't send money to Rubio and urge others to join me?
As usual...
Old RINO Romney is a day late and a dollar short...
Do you really buy that he "converted" from liberal to "conservative" just timely for the GOP primaries?
Mitt is a fraud.
Romney can call upon the deep military history of his family to assure us hed be a better military leader.

What kind of ice cream?
Thanks!
I think it’s about time we had a lifelong hunter and gun owner in charge.
The kind that's topped with hot fudge.
You miss the point.
Mitt Romney demands you eat his ice cream. No choice.
Citizens have no choice and no vote with Mitt Romney. Ever.
You have a better chance of marrying a cow,
which is now allowable under RomneyMarriage.
"Our beloved Commander in Chief - whom by the way I can't wait to challenge on the basketball court - is doing a heckuva job. I call on my fellow Republicans to tone down their anger at the Commander in Chief, and allow him to lead our troops to victory. And again, I can't wait to meet the President one-on-one - on the basketball court in a inner-city neighborhood of his choosing. I'm a hacker by nature but I won't lay a glove on the man of the hour. Fist bump!"
I guess you like Massachusetts Romneycare too.
I am not voting for Romney. The GOP needs to wake up and start looking at Republican candidates and let the RINO’s wither on the vine.
Give it up Mitt....you’re a looser...nobody believe’s you.
"I've been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we'd never see his like again because he was one of a kind. I was wrong! Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she. And what a she! This was Ronald Reagan at his best -- the same Ronald Reagan who made the address known now solely as "The Speech," which during the Goldwater campaign set the tone and the agenda for the rebirth of the traditional conservative movement that later sent him to the White House for eight years and revived the moribund GOP. Welcome back, Dad, even if you're wearing a dress and bearing children this time around."
~Michael Reagan, son of President Ronald Reagan
You like Mitt but prefer Rudy and you are not a RINO? Mitt passed Romney care while he was Governor of the most liberal state in the union, Massachusetts. Mitt stated he was stronger than Ted Kennedy on gay rights when he ran against him for the Senate. Rudy is anti gun, pro abortion, pro gay rights and sometimes cross dresses. I also know that NYC and Mass. have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and neither one of these guys tried to fix that. Considering all that, how are either of these guys not massively flaming, alpha type king RINOs?
Romney- another RINO the media would like to saddle GOP with next election.
Romney and Rudy? Of course you aren’t a Rino. No way.
Romney was living in France during the Vietnam war with a religious deferment granted by the Mormon church while his father was running as the anti-war, Republican candidate for President in 1968.
To quote Mitt Romney on gays in the military: "One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share."
Have the Romneys changed? Well, to quote Mitt Romney again: one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected.
Keeping up the Romney tradition of never serving, five sons of military age.
Speaking of Duncan Hunter...
Wish he were in the White House...
or at least head of the DHS
I wonder why CNN would give prominence to an attack on their Beloved Leader.
Could it be that they think it worth while, so they can promote Romney?
This is as obvious as saying Obama is a community organizer.
The opportunists are sensing O Bama’s political weakness. First it was Disidente Juan McCain, and now Smiling Bob Romney.
Shades of ‘68 and Bobby Kennedy.
Not only does he not protect the troops, he does not protect us either.
And if they do, there will be many on FR who will say, “No. We would rather have Obama.” In other words, if we can’t have the perfect angel, we would rather have the devil. You can fight for the perfect angel, but if it comes out gray, that is better than black. That is not my view.
Duhhhh. What do you suppose was Mitt’s first clue??
These threads on Romney are predictable. I read them to find amusement. The anti-Romney crowd hates him more than Obama.
Personally, I’d rather have Mitt at the helm right now.
Personally, I'd rather have a REAL conservative or libertarian at the helm right now instead of either of the two liberals Romney and Obama!
either of the two liberals Romney and Obama!
Oh Billy, don’t be a Zero...
WHAT?
Did the Earth just stop turning?!?!?
I am sure you can back that up of course...
As for me I don't like socialism, regardless of who brings it to me. As a conservative I am funny that way.
...who imposed a miniature version of Obamacare on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, much to the glee of far-left radicals like the late Ted Kennedy!
For you, I’d write: “The anti-Mormon crowd...”
Why is anything Mitt says news?
The health care conversion to mandatory health insurance in Massachusetts did not save anyone anything! Mass has tons of hospitals so you wouldn’t even be able to measure different states against the failed Mass plan that would fail worse anywhere else! Thanks so very much Romney!
The LDS thing was an after the election Bonus for me actually, in large part due to the antics of his “supporters” here on FR.
Between two political groups, one can't pick the opposition's candidate but they can sure get involved in picking their own side's candidate and the site that you are signed on to and posting on right now is dedicated largely to that very purpose with the proviso that the candidate has to represent conservatism.
