H1N1 "super flu" plague in Ukraine sparks concern, conspiracy theories about origins
Natural News ^ | 11-16-09 | Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) Here's what we know with some degree of certainty about the H1N1 virus in Ukraine right now: nearly 300 people have died from the viral strain, and over 65,000 people have been hospitalized (the actual numbers are increasing by the hour). The virus appears to be either a highly aggressive mutation of the globally-circulating H1N1 strain, or a combination of three different influenza strains now circulating in Ukraine. Some observers suspect this new "super flu" might be labeled viral hemorrhagic pneumonia (meaning it destroys lung tissue until your lungs bleed so much that you drown in your own fluid), but that has not been confirmed by any official sources we're aware of.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has issued emergency quarantine orders for nine of the country's regions and ordered the deployment of mobile military hospitals. He announced that the nation had been simultaneously hit with two different seasonal flu strains plus H1N1 -- and then hinted that all three might have recombined into the deadly new Ukrainian super flu.

Debunked here [FR].... big grain of salt folks - thank you Dr. Kopp

Thanks for the information! I'm not familiar with Dr. Kopp, although he seems like a good Catholic man (I'll read some of his articles), but Mike Adams does not always throw up bunk. Much of what he says is the truth regarding taking care of yourself in a more holistic fashion. I agree that he could be more "polished," and some of his claims need to be further looked into -- I trust Dr. Mercola's views with more confidence.

Also Mike Adams has had my e-mail address for a VERY long time and I've not received anything negative in that regard, however, it's nice to have a heads-up on that. I've written Mike Adams with the post from Dr. Kopp, so that Mike can address the complaint. I look forward to hearing what he has to say.

This sounds like KGB with plausible deniability.

Enter the People's Liberation Army of China. This is probably a multi-pronged attempt to subjugate several of the more fractious elements within the hegemony of both countries.

Cheaper than tanks, and the potential belligerence is diluted quickly as resources are diverted from protection of borders to scrambling to contain a growing epidemic.

Steven King wrote a book about a “Super Flu” something like 30 years ago.

"The Stand". Also an excellent screen treatment starring Gary Sinise...

I've read that one a few times. Interesting comments from this 2008 King interview (salon)
"If I were to write "The Stand" today, I might very well have the bug released by suicide bombers. It would have been some kind of act of ultimate terrorism instead of an accident."

"So we're talking pretty much about communism or socialism, all the things that the good Christian Republicans in the House of Representatives today are railing about in light of this bailout bill. Of course, Christ never preached give away everything to Wall Street, so they might have a point."

At least. Problem is, the lungs are black... sounds like someone wanted to wipe out ‘useless eaters’ using an old friend from 1918. Too many walls inbetween that and Swine flu... unless theres a lab handy.

BTW, what’s Baxter screwed up lately?

The WHO and CDC are not releasing the genetic and other info.

White Horse time.

Brian Kopp is a longtime Freeper and I trust him. He does his research, and he’s been looking into pandemic stuff for a long time. Mike Adams is a hustler and I cannot stand Mercola, he’s another self-promoter and for a long time - at least up until recently - he was saying that swine flu aka H1N1 was nothing but a big gov/big pharma “hype”.

In my opnion Mercola is an a**hole. I’ve read enough of his stuff. And I’m an herbalist and have clients and make my own formulas so I’m not against natural therapies at all. I just do not like lying self-promoting hucksters.

Thanks for pulling that quote out of the article.

I have held out belief that my family did suffer from H1N1 back in April (before testing started), and from hearing the report that cats can get this as well confirmed my “self-diagnosis” (our cat became sick the same day as my husband and four children, and I got VERY sick after “nursing” him back to health only to have our cat die due to leukemia we didn’t know he had four days later... We all recovered - me receiving the worst part as I got either a secondary infection, or bronchitis).

I had also held out hope that after suffering from this flu we have a natural immunity. I pray and hope to God this is true.

As for this “Super-Flu” in the Ukraine — honestly, it was only a matter of time. Whether this was engineered, or a “natural occurrence” doesn’t much matter — however, if it WAS engineered then it could be much, MUCH worse than what “Mother Nature” could dole out. That’s why I firmly believe there are just some things scientists would be better off leaving the heck alone (especially some of their forays into biological weapons).

You mean like digging up victims of the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic so they could “study” the flu virus?

This medical doctor and her children did get the swine flu twice .

Also a different researcher found 7 different sequences of H1N1 which means it might have mutated which would explain why people have gotten the swine flut twice .

Time to dust off the old community mitigation guidelines.

We’ve all heard CDC officials state, from the beginning, that this novel pandemic virus is “stable” and has “not mutated.” It appears that while they were making those statements, they did indeed know that it already had changed, that pandemic H1N1 even in the first month after its initial detection had branched into several distinct clades.

All seven clades discussed in the PLoS paper had been detected by May 2, 2009. (”Stable” my eye..)

From the PLoS paper: http://knol.google.com/k/the-early-diversification-of-influenza-a-h1n1pdm?collectionId=28qm4w0q65e4w.1&position=1#
Quote:
Clade 2 also contains isolates from among the earliest known cases of H1N1pdm in Mexico and California (e.g., A/Mexico/4108/2009, collected April 2, 2009). The TMRCA of clade 2 suggests it emerged around the same time as clade 1 (February 14 – March 12, 2009, 95% HPD) and circulated for ~3 – 6 weeks prior to detection (Fig. 3). [/b] In contrast to clade 1, clade 2 disseminated widely to Canada, France, Germany, China, and to multiple US states: Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, New York, Washington, and Wisconsin (Fig. 2).

Quote:
Clade 3 was detected by surveillance several weeks after clades 1 and 2 (A/Arizona/01/2009, collected April 22, 2009). However, the TMRCA (February 21 – March 19, 2009, 95% HPD) suggests that clade 3 emerged at a similar time as clades 1 and 2, and only was detected later. Clade 3 is the most geographically diverse, containing isolates from Norway, France, England, Germany, Puerto Rico, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, and the US states of New York, Wisconsin, and Arizona (Fig. 2). Although no amino acid changes have been fixed among all clade 3 isolates, at least 13 different amino acid changes were observed among clusters of isolates contained within this clade (data not shown).

Quote:
Clade 4 is the only clade in this study that contains isolates from only one region: all 11 isolates are from East Asia. Clade 4 is characterized by fixed amino acid changes in the PB2 (V649I), PB1 (I667T), NP (V100I), and NA (V106I), and NS2 (E63K) (Table 1). Clade 4 was the last to be detected in this study, as the first isolate (A/Korea/01/2009) was not identified until May 2, 2009. However, the TMRCA of clade 4 (March 5 – April 18, 2009, 95% HPD) suggests that clade 4 circulated for ~2 – 7 weeks prior to detection, and likely in non-Asian countries as well (Fig. 3).

Quote:
Clade 5 is the second largest clade identified here, due primarily to the fact that nearly 88% (71/81) of isolates collected from Wisconsin belong to this clade (Fig. 2). More than 90% (71/77) of isolates in clade 5 were collected from Wisconsin, where the clade was first detected (April 28, 2009) and appears to have proliferated rapidly (Table S1). Clade 5 also was identified several weeks later in Canada, China, and Japan (Fig. 2).

Quote:
Clade 6 is geographically diverse, given its size in this study (13 isolates) and relatively late TMRCA, ranging from April 4 – April 20, 2009 (95% HPD), which is ~1 – 3 weeks prior to detection (Fig. 3). Following the collection of the first clade 6 isolates on April 28, 2009 in the US, isolates were collected from Canada, China, Italy, and Japan (Fig. 2).

Quote:
Clade 7 is the largest identified in this study, representing more than one-third of all isolates (35.2%, 102/290) (Table S1). Almost 83% (67/81) of isolates from New York are members of clade 7. Clade 7 also contains isolates from Canada, China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Russia, and the US states of California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Wisconsin (Fig. 2). Approximately 40% of the isolates collected from Europe and Asia are members of clade 7 (Fig. 2). Clade 7 is characterized by fixed amino acid changes in the NP (V100I) and NA (V106I and N248D) that are also found in clades 5 and 6, as well as by unique amino acid changes in the HA (S206T) and NS1 (I123V) (Table 1). Clade 7 was first detected April 24, 2009..

How many clades of pandemic H1N1 now exist today, six and a half months after Clade 7 was detected, is anyone’s guess I suppose.

Mercola's site does look a little like World Net Daily's, however not with those annoying buried links, but he self promotes I would think because he no longer sees patients; the Web IS his office. My nutritionist that I pay ten bucks to see gives me a great deal of information that is all holistic, and he said he is behind Dr. Mercola's information although he thought his products were too high in price, but then sold me $200 worth of HIS products instead.:) I receive a few products from Mercola that I've used on and off for quite some time. They all benefit me; you have to do your homework as to what helps. Mercola gives a great deal of free info on his site as well, and continually touts eating good clean (organic if possible) veges and some fruit, purified water, etc.

Do you think Big Pharma does its job well and do you think Swine Flu is a pandemic? Some of us have been sick over at our house and have taken care of it through natural means. Frankincense and Myrrh might be two of the therapeutic essential oils that we've used that Dr. Kopp would give consideration to as to being beneficial (considering his strong faith). He's already received the "gold" part through his practice (what a *beautiful* article -- my DH writes articles of this nature as well, wonderfully Catholic and, yes, a bit sappy -- whenever his pen hits paper.)

Other articles by Dr. Kopp.

P.S. Calling Dr. Mercola an a**hole on a public forum probably wouldn't do much for your business as an herbalist if you were using your real name.
