That’s certainly the conclusion one can draw from two stories over the last couple of days. Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), who pushed Barack Obama to bring Guantanamo Bay detainees to the US for criminal trials, says that criticism of the decision is “un-American”:
Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) has strong words for the Republicans opposing Attorney General Eric Holder’s plan to bring five 9/11 suspects to New York City to face trial.
“They see this as an opportunity to demagogue,” he said. “They will seize on any opportunity to do that, and that means they’ll even take a stand that’s un-American.”

So the “torture” at Abu Ghraib is a “warcrime” but the hijacking of 4 planes and murder of 3,000 people is just a “crime crime”.

Jim Moran (unfortunately, my Congressman) presumes to lecture anyone on demagogery. He has, over the course of his years in Congress, made demogoguery his primary method of attacking policies with which he disagrees.
And I can only laugh to hear Moran speak of people being un-American.
What would Jim Moran know or even care about being an American. Isn’t he one of those crooks that came to Washington worth virtually nothing and is now worth eight figures?

Terrorism is theater. If KSM and his coconspirators are tried, convicted and executed at Gitmo there will be no fanfare, no headlines and no opportunity for Al Queda to use their dastardly deeds to recruit new soldiers.
A trial in NY will be a circus. It will make the OJ trial look like a municipal court traffic summons. The sole purpose for the Obama idiots to bring the trial to NY is to show off, and show up the CIA and GW Bush. This is Shakespearian... The tragic flaw of the Obama administration is their hubris. They will put so much at risk including American lives, the financial health of the city of NY and the potential disaster of an acquittal.
They will be writing about this decision and the fatal flaw that brought this about for centuries.
The last poll I saw 70% of American were un-American
This entire administration is a tragic comedy, and anybody who thinks this entire charade is any more than just one more narcisstic event for 0 is fooling themselves. My most sincere sympathies to New Yorkers - I like that town.
