Was There an Oswald/Ruby Cover-Up? Did the Mob Kill JFK? premieres November 22

This Sunday the Discovery Channel is running two back-to-back documentaries -- "Did the Mob Kill JFK?" and "JFK: The Ruby Connection" -- exploring the role of the Mafia behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy:

New information and never before heard details of a startling confession raise new questions on just who was behind the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the subsequent killing of Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby. * * * "I had the little bastard killed. He was a thorn in my shoe" -- according to a secret FBI informant these were the words of his cellmate, Carlos Marcello, the notorious New Orleans mafia boss (one of America’s most powerful mafia godfathers) confessing to his role in orchestrating the Kennedy assassination and featured in Did the Mob Kill JFK." Almost half a century after the assassination, the informant has come forward to provide an exclusive interview that may solve one of the nation's most enduring mysteries and re-write history. * * * Marcello, who controlled mob operations in Louisiana and Texas, had long been suspected in having a hand in the Kennedy assassination. "Did the Mob Kill JFK?" links Marcello with both Oswald and Ruby, as the godfather reveals in his confession that he brought Lee Harvey Oswald into the plot, telling the informant that "He was my man. He did what the hell I told him to do." Marcello also admits that Dallas strip club owner Jack Ruby was deeply in debt and "owed him big." The special draws on an array of historians, investigators and eyewitness accounts, including interviews with author Lamar Waldron and former Secret Service agent Abraham Bolden who claims an aborted attempt on the President's life in Chicago early in November was covered up.

At the moment of the last impact, at least the most dramatic impact, his facial tissue explodes outward toward his front.

This jetting of tissue, causes the head to move backwards.

I have seen video of a pumpkin being shot by a large caliber bullet, and the pumpkin actually fell towards the shooter.

The skin blowout, is the selling point for me. Even if the dynamics of the pumpkin don’t sell it, seeing his facial scalp (if you will) be blown outward, tells me it was a shot from behind.

A couple of years ago the discovery channel or one of those ran a show about the timing of Oswalds movements after the shooting. One of the counter-arguments was that Oswald could not have physically made all of the stops and taken the routes he supposedly took in time to be in the theatre when he was arrested. They did the steps and took the longer routes where there was a choice. Conclusion: he could have done it all. Just one point.

I also have concluded that there was more than one shooter in Dallas that day. The wound ballistics lead me to infer that there were two different types of bullets that hit JFK. However, that doesn't mean there was a conspiracy connecting the two(or more) shooters. There may even have been more than two separate groups trying to kill JFK that day, but only two of them hit their target.

Actually, it all sounds very probable. I have it on very good authority that Ruby knew Oswald, and that Marcello did, indeed, order the hit. I also have it on good authority that Sirhan Sirhan was mobbed up to the hilt.

When I was fifteen, I went to boarding school in Keene, Texas.

At the time a local conservative talk show host thought highly of Garrison. He had him on the show several times.

I was at an impressionable age, and I wasn’t mature enough to evaluate what Garrison was saying from an adult perspective, but I will say his claims seemed sound to me.

He claimed that about five people (as I recall) had died strange deaths just prior to his scheduled interviews with them. One fell down some stairs. One went through a plate glass window. Another committed suicide.

I didn’t consider him to be a kook at the time. It is interesting how people have tried to tear him down over time. It may be deserved, but I didn’t see it that way after listening to him in the day.

But just as Ruby had sabotaged Texas’s efforts to carry out justice against Oswald, he would also thwart the state’s prosecution against himself. On December 9, 1966, he was diagnosed with cancer, as doctors found extensive tumors throughout his lungs, lymph nodes, and liver. He died less than a month later, at Dallas’s Parkland Memorial Hospital. Both President Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald had died at the same place. Ruby did not die in peace; he suffered from delusions that his crime had brought on pogroms against American Jews. Melvin Belli, vacationing in Europe, responded to his death with characteristic flair: “That poor little son of a bitch. Those goddamn Texans. They never gave him a chance.”

Reminds me of the Woody Allen bank robbery movie. he and his gang were going to rob the bank and just when they were going up to the window to pass the robbery note to the teller, another robber gang got to another window ahead of them and got the money.

So many people and groups had motive, but the arrival independently of two hit teams on the same day and location is too much of a coincidence. Argues more for central planning sending two hit teams.

Thanks. I believe I saw something like that. It was interesting.

I don’t think we’ll ever know, but I do like to watch shows discussing the matter.

It’s amazing what folks come up with.

Right. I think the list of those who “died under mysterious circumstances” associated with Garrison’s probe is about as long as the Clinton death list. If the truth ever comes out, and I doubt that it will, I believe he will be vindicated, but he died being labeled a crackpot.

You cannot successfuly kill a president unless you can control the subsequent investigation....

Sec. Steward killed Lincoln and controlled the investigation, his motive was simple, he wanted to punish the souht and Lincoln didn’t.

Those that wanted Cuba back, and the war on communism to continue removed JFK and whether anyone likes it or not, the one correct thing Oliver Stone ever did was his movie JFK.....we whom have investigated it know his film was produced to satisfy those who knew what happened and was designed to quiet them by giving them closure.

These are facts. That’s the reason I worry for Madame President...these people play for keeps and the people behind bowow would think nothing of killing 100 people in their way....

Showtime ran a movie about Joe Bonnano. He retired in Arizona and IIRC correctly he died of old age. The rest of the commission let him go without any hits out on him. At the end of the movie there was an interview with the old man.

He said that Giancana had JFK hit and that one of the shooters was in the sewer opening by the curb. I have seen this debunked by several people, but that's what the old man said.

IIRC there was a guy interviewed in prison who claimed to be one of the shooters. It was running in several clips on youtube. Don't know if he was ever debunked or if he could be.

I can tell you that they think the mob killed JKF

That arrogant SOB had a lot of enemies: Russians, Cubans, Mobsters (Organized Crime/Mafia), Special Agents (CIA), G-men (J. Edgar Hoover's FBI), Rednecks and Oilmen (Right-wing Extremists), and the MIC (Military Industrial Complex).

But irony of ironies, the guy who did it was a semi-literate paperback Marxist from a broken home. Just another misguided liberal.

One more.

IIRC Mark Lane wrote a book Plausible Denial in which he outlines E. Howard Hunt's involvement in the shooting. Then Hunt sued him for defamation and Lane won the case.

Supposedly Hunt told everyone he was at home on the day of the shooting, but his family said he was not (all according to Lane).

I thought Hunt's son made some rounds on talk radio saying his dad was involved.

Maybe someone will tell us the rest of the story.

and that should tell you something....the Agency was involved, parts of the FBI, CIA and others, who had worked together with the mob for years, were all a part of this....and I have had enough....

It was wrong, and look....the bastards have radicals controlling the government anyway.

Naming the shooter of JFK is like asking who’s Spartacus. There’s so many conspiracy theories and people and groups who hated him, pick one and go with it. In the next 10 years, someone else will admit to the shooting. Then they’ll all have died out and we’ll get kids and grandchildren popping stories.

According to the Venona Tapes, the KGB considered their two greatest propaganda successes to be the destruction of J. Edgar Hoover's reputation, by flooding the media with lies of his homosexuality, and creating 1000 myths about the assassination of JFK that implicated everyone except the dedicated Stalinist, Lee Harvey Oswald.

And the misinformation continues...
