At least 300 people who waited in line for hours to meet former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Noblesville left without a signed copy of her book, Borders confirmed Friday.
The former Alaska governor visited the Borders store at Hamilton Town Center Thursday evening as part of a book tour for her new memoir, "Going Rogue."
The store handed out 1,000 wristbands for the event early Thursday, saying those with wristbands would have their books signed, unless "unforeseen circumstances" arose.

Borders released a statement Friday evening saying they had planned carefully for the event, but that three hours was not a long enough timeframe in the end.
"Former Gov. Palin was extremely gracious, and engaged with our customers and unfortunately, when the event time concluded, about 300 customers remained in line, unable to meet her," spokeswoman Mary Davis said in the statement. "We regret that any customers were unhappy with this event, as customer satisfaction is a priority."
Those who didn't get to greet Palin personally were offered an autographed book plate, which Davis said was "satisfactory to the vast majority of those who did not have the opportunity to meet her."
Still, some fans said they planned to return their copies of "Going Rogue."
(The Indianapolis Star has the most details. However it is a Gannett paper, so no excerpts.)

Still, some fans said they planned to return their copies of “Going Rogue.” ..........................Yeah, because they won’t be able to sell the book on eBay.
If the past is any indicator, Sarah will make it right with these people regardless of Borders.
Why? Are they going to at least read them first?
Maybe they only bought them for the value they'd have with a signature, to resell? Now they're not going to be worth as much so they're returning them?
I’m smelling something here...BS meter going off...
I’m not faulting Palin, yet her handlers and PR team need to do better job.

Those kinds of folks were never true fans to begin with.
That would be thirty minutes ahead of schedule. She made brief remarks to the crowd and then headed inside.
Yeah ... that’s how these book signings sometimes go. I remember when Nancy Pelosi went on her book signing tour. The MSM lapdog media promoted it slavishly .... but, poor Nancy. As it turned out, nobody gave a rat’s ass what Nancy had to say and many of the book signings were simply cancelled. The ones which weren’t cancelled were miserable flops. Too bad. Maybe she can sell a few copies the next time she marches with the Folsom Street Fair. Google it.
Why don’t they just burn it. They’ll feel better/sarc
It’s already been debunked here at FR in another thread. How many times will this lie be posted here?
Since nearly all Borders employees are commie-lib types, your BS Meter may be detecting a set-up by the ones at that store. They obviously handed out more bracelets than the allotted time would allow. Also....when Sarah wrapped up the appearance and split the scene, had anyone from Borders let her know about the 300 still waiting? Did she depart IN SPITE OF knowing there were 300 unfulfilled bracelets still waiting in line, or is this a sandbag job?!
They PLANNED to???
They were right there at the store. Why DIDN'T they?
Or are you just making shit up, IndyChannel.com?
There is also a pic on her Facebook site of her signing books in the parking lot before leaving.
In your face, IndyChannel.com!
How much planning goes into returning a book?
I mean, it is more than a one step process?
Maybe IndyChannel.com can do a five part series on how to plan on returning a book.
I don’t know how to post a picture here, but you can view it here:
