Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stopped by a Manhattan Barnes and Noble Tuesday to sign copies of her new blockbuster memoir "What Happened." Superfans started lining up outside Barnes and Noble as early as 11:00 p.m. Monday for a signing scheduled for 11:00 a.m. the next day. [Snip] After arriving an hour late, Clinton signed books without formally recognizing the audience or thanking them for waiting twelve hours. Those who did get a chance to meet Clinton were given roughly 12 seconds.

NEW YORK — Other candidates go on book tours. Donald Trump brings the book tour to him. The erstwhile Republican front-runner pooh-poohed surging Republican rivals Marco Rubio and Ben Carson to an overflow news conference, then signed books for legions of his fans — including a real housewife of New Jersey — all from his home turf of Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday.

"Number one, baby," said one supporter. "Donald's the best!" yelled an adoring fan beside me as I pushed my way closer to Donald Trump at his book signing at Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday. Trump was singing copies of his latest book, Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again, which was released today. A Fortune contingent went to check out the event -- along with hundreds of supporters, spectators and media who clamored together in the luxury building to catch a glimpse of The Donald. And, no, we didn't get the Fortune copy signed, sadly. "Look...

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton initially obliged Tuesday when she was stopped by a man in Washington, D.C., who asked if she could autograph her new book, “Hard Choices,” but she was stunned by the man’s brazen request when he asked her to make it out to “Christopher Stevens.” On Sept. 11, 2012, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were murdered by jihadists under Clinton’s watch when she served as secretary of state.

The Obama administration has done its best to oppose states from instituting new, stricter voter ID laws, complaining that many minority voters lack photo identification. But those same folks it wants voting in November are apparently not welcome anywhere near the First Lady's book signings. Something tells me that the same media outlets comparing voter ID laws to the Jim Crow Laws, however, won't see any hint of hypocrisy here, if they even report the story at all.

"Come on, Sarah." Once more, Sarah Palin came to Iowa. Once more, it was for a book signing. This time it was at the WalMart in Spirit Lake. Again, no questions allowed by media (local or national) and no opportunities for possible 2012 caucus-goers to get close and ask what's on their minds. Supporters -- like those standing in line today in Spirit Lake -- don't mind that. In fact, the people we saw were delighted to meet the former governor of Alaska. Palin, in an apparent great mood, joked with people in line, shook hands and even autographed one...

DES MOINES — There was no doubt about the sentiments of many of those at author Mitt Romney’s book-signing at the Des Moines Public Library Monday. “I’d be interested if he ran” for president again, Scott Newland of Des Moines said as he thumbed through Romney’s “No Apology: The Case for American Greatness.” Among those waving Romney campaign-like signs and wearing Romney t-shirts, Shirley Woodruff was more direct about wanting to see the former Massachusetts governor make another run for the Republican nomination. “He’s at least honest,” she said, displaying a photo of herself and Romney’s wife, Ann. “He has...

Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas is arguable the biggest congregation in the nation. The church is housed in the old Compaq Center which used to be the home of the Houston Rockets basketball team. On any given Sunday 40,000 people pack the church to listen to Osteen spew his version of the gospel. With a following like that one would expect Osteen to earn a hefty paycheck from the church but not a single penny of the church's money goes to Osteen. All his money comes from his books.
