Here’s a blip about the ad and a link to the one minute video of it.

Houston businessman Farouk Shami has launched the first ad of his campaign for governor. The 60-second introductory spot began airing statewide on Friday. It ran in Dallas during expensive pro-football time slots Sunday. Two things about it stand out:
Shami doesn’t let anyone know he’s seeking the Democratic nomination.
And he doesn’t speak. Shami, 66, born in Palestine, has a thick accent. He emigrated to this country in 1965. He’s made his wealth — the ad says he has “a multi-billion-dollar company” — in hair care-related products.
It doesn’t mention his questionable associations back in the homeland, nor does it mention those new jobs he says he’s going create are for illegal aliens. He’s all for amnesty and giving them “paperwork” (from another article about him on FR from about a month ago).
A month or so ago, I trashed the one product of his in the other bathroom and informed the family his products will not be in this house.
No, he will not get my vote.
Wanna bet Shami knows Tareq and Michaele Salahi, the WH gatecrashers? Connecting dots.

ping to #23 above
From your keyboard to God’s ears. Word has it that JimRob himself is pulling up stakes in CA and headin’ for the glory land to live with us! :)
(I’d ping him per protocol when mentioning someone, but he gets so many pings that I hate to pile on.)
Ping to comments 19-23 regarding Shami's bid for TX governor.

REMEMBER THIS,TEXANS:
Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress
One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.
