Reversing his previously stated belief that none of the Republican candidates for the GOP presidential nomination have all three legs of the conservative stool, Rush Limbaugh told his listeners Monday that Mitt Romney is indeed a three-leg conservative.
Describing the three legs as "national security/foreign policy, the social conservatives, and the fiscal conservatives," Rush said, "The social conservatives are the cultural people. The fiscal conservatives are the economic crowd: low taxes, smaller government, get out of the way... The foreign policy crowd is obviously what it is. I don't think there's anybody on our side who doesn't care about national security."
...
His conclusion? "I think the one candidate of the three still out there on our side that matter (and, actually, it's just two, because Huckabee doesn't, in terms of a chance to win) is saying who more closely embodies all three legs of this conservative stool, you'd have to say that it's Mitt Romney. There's actually no choice in the matter. It certainly isn't Senator McCain."

Bishop Romney? Now that’s sick (considering his record).
If this is all about Romney being a Lib, why the referrence to his religion?
Realx, Reagan would never stand for what passed for Conservatives today.
“Is yours the only interpretation of the evidence that matters here?..”
You are missing the point here - Jim is simply repeating the facts - not asserting his position Reaganesque...you’re getting caught up in semantics....
That is because Reagan didn't say it, some else said it TO Reagan during one of his campaigns.
it was during this period that the chairman of the California Republican Party, Gaylord Parkinson, enunciated what became known as the 11th Commandment"Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican," a phrase which later became attributed to Reagan.
How self-serving is that?
The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, poor loser I am Myth Romney and
TeamROMNEY decided
to attack Gov. Palin (and her defenseless children) to throw Election2008.
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
.hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Like I said, rules are for everyone else to follow except you. We find that to be offensive in Libs, shouldn’t we find it offensive when we do it to other Republicans?
Well that didn’t take long...
Do you keep that Victim card in a holster?
I've now made my choice.... I WILL VOTE FOR RON PAUL before I'd vote for Mitt ROMNEY!
Sheesh, I keep telling you that his record stands on its own. I do not have to ask Rush whether or not Romney is a big government socialist butcher. That’s just a given fact. It’s Romney’s word and deed.
Do you deny what Romney himself stated in the video posted above and the many similar videos of his past campaigns, speeches and governmental acts?
Is RomneyCare NOT a big government socialist boondoggle?
Wow...this is fun!
**Wow...this is fun!**
but they do not understand that “Reagan’s do not speak ill of another Republican” does NOT APPLY to RINO’s like ROMNEY!
The Mittbots love that 11th Commandment bit even though it was not intially Reagan's.
Of course that was a time when Conservative and Republic were essentially the same.
It has been some time since that was the case.
Indeed there are a couple of Quotes where Reagan expressed his displeasure with weak sisters in the party. I don't have them at had.
Also the most ironic bit, Romney has expressly said he was not a follower of Reagan's, “i am not here to repeat “Reagan Bush” and the like.
Only Conservatives can use Reagan to support their claims. That leaves Mitt and his team WAY out...
You're so emotional . . . .
You mean like in 94 when he was ahead of Teddy by double digits early on in the race and he came out and said “ I don’t want the support of the extremist NRA or Christian Conservative types”—nothing but a BS hack politician
It might be because we have Mitt Romney being interviewed and using the Mormon faith to justify his pro-abortion activism and in the same conversation using his status as Mormon "Bishop" and Stake President to overcome the interviewers doubts.
And I keep pointing out that many recognized Conservative leaders who are fully familiar with the same data that you present here, clearly view Romney as a Conservative.
So, am I to take from this that once you have read the data and made up you mind about it, there can be no other valid opinions or arguments? You are the sole arbiter of what is and is not Conservative?
