Never fear conspiracy theorists of the world! The Birthers are alive and well and advertising in the pages of the Washington Times. And what an advertisement it is. It's unclear what is more offensive here: the accusation that President Obama is not an American citizen, or the ape imagery. The former, of course, is utterly ridiculous. The latter is not. Also, now Obama is British.
Ape imagery has well-documented racist undertones, making it fairly difficult to miss the subtle message here. Earlier this year the New York Post got in some very hot water for publishing a cartoon depicting policemen shooting a monkey that many interpreted to represent President Obama...
The claims in the actual, full-page advertisement -- the WT has run birther ads before, by the way -- are as ridiculous as you might expect. Now Obama is British. According to the ad, the British Nationality Act of 1948 applied to Obama's Kenyan-born father therefore making Obama a British subject. What it neglects to mention is this:
The Center for American Progress' Ian Millhiser points out that if this rule were actually applied to the presidency, every foreign nation would have the power to remove the President of the United States simply by granting the president citizenship.

Suppose these same people complaining must have been living under a rock for the last nine years with all of the comparisons of George W. Bush as an ape. Personally comparing Barack Hussein Obama to an ape does the ape a great disservice. At least the ape didn't triple our country's debt in the last 10 months. Unemployment didn't rise to an effective rate of almost 20% under the ape's watch. And the ape didn't decide to try KSM and by extension, GW Bush and Dick Cheney in civilian court.

Anyone who can think logically is an “anti-birther” regardless of political affiliation.

The best way to understand how the left understands the world is to understand how American education has been undermined for much of the past number of decades. At some point, the Western classical tradition of rhetoric and analysis of same has been removed from classroom study and replaced with various new forms of criticism which go by many names, but basically boil down to “victimology”. Literally, “victimology” is the only means leftists have of understanding arguments. There’s no such thing as metaphor or analogy or logic or fallacies for that matter. So in any argument, especially with conservatives, the argument can only been seen as racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-environment, anti-poor etc, and not as true or false as our classical tradition sought to find. Keep this in mind for the rest of Obama’s term.

LOL that's like Canada suddenly declaring me a citizen and the US government forcing me to leave. It wouldn't force you to leave but according to Birthers it would mean you could never be President. Dual citizenship and all.

Anyone who can think logically...
Anyone who agrees with David Frum and Andrew Sullivan, thinks waterboarding is torture and Honduras was a coup will never be accused of thinking logically.

The Center for American Progress Ian Millhiser points out that if this rule were actually applied to the presidency, every foreign nation would have the power to remove the President of the United States simply by granting the president citizenship. What utter horse crap. That is not how dual citizenship works.
But will anyone else challenge his statement?

Its an especially moronic strawman. Glad you liked it. One tends to see a lot of moronic arguements on Birther threads.
